Redo the Friday's Child Klingon ship?

My opinion? Make it a destroyer using the D-7 asthetic, and then use THAT for the opening of Organia, and you're all set.
Two! TWO! TWO ships in one!

We'll get really GOOD and sharp close-ups of the D7 cruiser when Okuda finally gets around to "The Enterprise Incident" next year.

My memory is a little fuzzy, but didn't Scotty identify himself as in command of the USS Enterprise? And they probably knew Kirk was down on the planet. So no, it has to be a scout ship. Maab said he saw fear in Kras' eyes. He was telling Kirk the truth about what type of vessel dropped him off.

The episode just aired.

Turns out the new Klingon ship is a blocky, square-ish vessel with traditional Klingon-style warp nacelles seen from a bit of a distance like the new Gorn ship in the Remastered "Arena." It appears to be grey/silver in color.

Hopefully somebody will get a screenshot of it. :)

The show airs at 10:35 pm locally, about a half hour from now. I'll burn a copy with my handy-dandy new dvd burner and post a screencap here.

Joe, digital

That would be cool (I'm not positive if I'll be able to see the episode tomorrow because I'm going to have brunch with my Dad for his birthday). Plus I'm impatient and don't feel like waiting for tomorrow.

Alidar, impatient ;)

I realize its probably very tiny and I probably won't see much, but it would still be cool to look at.

Hopefully they'll show a big version at startrek.com as well.

Well pictures from the ep, including the klingon ship are up on trekmovie.com. Profile looks like a normal D7 to me but I guess it could be different up close. I like the updated phaser effect as well and the additions to the blue screen and dot. :)

Yeah, looks like a D7 to me too (which is more or less fine, as far as I'm concerned, although it leads to less Klingon variety, which isn't as cool).

screenshots from the episode are here

here is the new Klingon scout

which looks a lot more like what a Klingon ship facing you down than the original...

Those bastards beat me!

Here're mine:

Looks vaguely Klingon. Dialogue has it at extreme distance.

Joe, looks vaguely human

Awwwww.... :(

Yeah, but the original Klingon scout looked like it was crossing the Enterprise's path--which was also in the dialogue. What they should have done was have the new D7/scoutship cross the screen in profile, then turn to face them as if they were getting ready to fire. That would have fucking kicked ass!

Well hopefully st.com will post some caps of the model. But to me it looks like a D7 at exterme range

Yeah, that's a D7 and a fumble on the TOS-R team's part. A battlecruiser's inconsistent with the dialogue and events of the episode. Aside from Kras' direct statement that his ship is a small scout vessel, does anyone think a D7 wouldn't "have the stomach" to tangle with a starship, as Scotty says?

The original episode gave them a starting point. Too bad they didn't have the time/money/will to do something with it.

Could be like the Birds of Prey - Little Birds of Prey, or Big Birds Of Prey, depending on what the story calls for ;)

Has anyone official confirmed this, or are we going by the shape? Maybe it's a D2.

I know he's Bob the Discount Klingon, but he is a Klingon, and in "battle," too.

You don't think he'd lie?

Not so much. But a scout ship, similar in profile to a D7, would not have the stomach.

Plus, who's to say Kras' "scout ship" and the ship on the screen are one and the same? Cloaks.

Joe, coated

To be fair, we never see it close enough to know it's a D7. It could be a scout that looks like a miniature D7 at a distance. There's not enough detail to judge scale. A TOS-era Bird of Prey would have been cool, though, and definitely more in keeping with dialog and consistent with TSFS in which the Enterprise was thought to outgun a scout-class BoP ten to one.

This is a low poly concept that same ship I had done a year or so ago. I tried to cross proportions with what Jefferies had as a one-persion Starfleet space-tug, so the operator would be in an upright position in that little upright area.

The nice thing about this idea is that, from certain angles, you could come up with a horseshoe crab motif (which is more apparent in the top view,) albeit with an upswept tail that would likley break it's back. ;)
Now this is interesting! Mariner, are you ever gonna finish this puppy?
