Red Angel Theories- Post Here

Guess we don’t need this thread anymore.

Yeah, this episode basically closed the door. No one else can use the suit it seems besides Gabrielle. Even if Michael is genetically similar enough, the suit's time crystal has been destroyed, and virtually all of the appearances of the Red Angel this season have been canonically established as Gabrielle.

Why? We still don't know a lot of things about the Red Angel. Why there are these red signals, for example. Or why exactly (and how) she transplanted a church full of people away from Earth's past to another planet. Why they thought the suit was future technology when it was from 20 years in the past. etc. etc.
They said that the suit has almost unlimited power, and we've already seen examples of Transporter tech beaming folks ungodly distances, it's not much of a stretch to believe that the suit can do it easily.

Why would anyone ever need a fleet of starships then, if that kind of technology was available twenty years before Discovery's time? That feature in itself is almost more interesting than the time travel function.

We don't actually know just what the suit is capable of at its inception, except send its creator on a wild ride to nowhere.
Many if its latter shown talents could have come from Gabrielle having eons of time to tinker with it.
(she did BUILD it after all)

^ “Eons of time”? Do you mean that just as a figure of speech or is this something I missed in the newest episode? Just for how long is Gabrielle Burnham stranded in the future?

I remember as a young person reading this interesting novella by Vernor Vinge. It took place after there was a singularity and most of mankind ascended, but a portion of people were kept alive through stasis technology through the ascension, thus left behind on an empty world. They all congregate about 50 million years in the future.

Regardless, humans by this time are also biologically immortal. It comes out that one character actually took the "long way" to the future, and spent all of their time constructing a giant structure out of sand - one bucket at a time - in order to create a maze system to run monkeys through in order to selectively breed them for heightened intelligence over millions of years.

Not just stranded in the future, but more than 800 times traveling back and forth though centuries of time.
That's gotta add up to at least a couple of Eons.
:)

Alcor is a real star though, and it isn't 50k ly away.
Yeah, I was floating the theory that Alcor IV might be a colony of a future Terralysium, but given the real Alcor is quite close to Mizar, I think we should rather ask the question whether the writers meant the real Alcor or just used the name as a coincidence.

I believe they said it could house almost unlimited data for something like the Sphere data, but not unlimited power. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) That's why they needed the supernova in the first place.

My remaining question is whether the Klingons succeeded in building their time suit, and whether they've been playing some part in this all along (since the signals didn't come from Mrs. Burnham). Since they'll be featured in the next episode, maybe we'll find out.

I probably misremembered that.
But it must have one Hell of a power source to have been able to jump through Time 800+ times, over twenty years.

My guess is that Control will gain sentience in the future and go on a galactic wide mission of seeking out other advanced A.I's to incorporate into itself. I think it will seek to become 'God' in the sense that it wants to know everything that is knowable, which stems from its origins as a threat assessment program. It will then begin purging the galaxy of sentient life due to the risks posed by biological life and it's own aims to be a galactic super computer. The V'drayash is a version of the Federation that has been completely taken over by the A.I hence why it values artifacts of the old Federation.

I think Terralysium will be vital to overcoming the A.I in a 1000 years and potentially be a last refuge of humanity. I think there's more to the story of Mama Burnham being the Red Angel as well. Perhaps their is actually a Red Angel entity that gives the information to mama burnham to build the suit? The actual Red Angel might be itself an some type of advanced A.I, a good one, that is trying to influence events to bring about it's own birth. I think Zora is an example of what can happen to A.I over time and not necessarily the Red Angel A.I itself.

They should link it to the Borg, Nomad AND V'Ger, and make the whole universe even SMALLER! I'm Truly not sure if i'm being Sarcastic or Serious!
