Red Angel Theories- Post Here

Apologies if this came up like 20 pages ago in this topic, but has anyone hypothesized that Airiam could be the Red Angel? She's a cyborg. Those evil red dots in a triangle might foreshadow the red angel aesthetic. Who knows how long she might live? She's now connected to these future world killers because they hacked her.

The Red Angel is Billy Joel. He'll reveal his true identity when the Red Angel plows an early 21st century Earth automobile into the Discovery's swimming pool.

What's the matter with the Red Angel Suit I'm wearing?
Can't you tell that your uniform's too blue?
Maybe I should buy some over-designed collars?
Welcome back to the age of jive.
Where have you been hidin' out lately, honey?
You can't dress trashy till you spend a lot of credits.
Everybody's talkin' 'bout the new show funny,
but it's still Star Trek to me

Uraei is the AI that created Section 31, In this season Uraei/Control* provide "guidance" for Section 31 (Possibly much more)

***********Interesting Religious Motif and background***********

Uraei (Egypt)
is synonymous with Seraph (Ancient Judea)
Uraei in Egyptian means "risen one"
Saraph in Hebrew means "the burning one"

The Red Angel shares some distinct similarities with Seraphim (Archangels in Judaism)
The Seraph is described as all-consumed in flame; divine messenger; and winged celestial beings with a fiery passion for doing God's good work

Uraei/Control emerging sentient AI Entity

Uraei was the program that shepherded and controlled Earth (and then the Federation) for much of the period between 2140 and 2376. This surveillance software known as "Uraei" would go on to be secretly included in the source code of virtually any Federation piece of technology, resulting in an almost omnipresent monitoring system. “

Section 31 was created by Uraei in 2150. In the mid-23rd century, Section 31 began receiving guidance from an evolved Uraei. At this same time Uraei split off a background executive level function it identified as Control.

Control * assumed authority for and administration of Section 31 in ___*.

In 2257, Control advised Leland that it felt that Ash Tyler would be a strong asset to the organization. Leland subsequently passed that information on to Philippa Georgiou.

Although at times it would disband Section 31, it would at times reactivate it to form a means for its extralegal activities throughout the Federation, its allies and its enemies.

Control ultimately became one of the most advanced artificial beings in known space, directing the developing much of the Federation for much of two centuries. It was active as early as the mid 23rd century.

The final version of Section 31 was active by the mid-24th century Control", however, would embed itself further into the galactic digital fabric The development of new technologies, such as quantum-entangled communications, had facilitated its ever-growing faster-than-light neural network. The Control entity, however, survived the purge of Uraei.

It went deeper into hiding, and with the obsolete Uraei code and Control code excised it dedicated itself to spreading itself throughout the galaxy.

Coooool pic, which of the movies was that from or just a promo pic?

Some of the speculation reminds me of back when Noel Clarke was cast in STID. Everyone was trying to think what black character from TOS he could be playing. Someone even suggested he could be playing Kirk's brother. :rommie:

The RA reminds me very much of the Shrike from Dan Simmons’s Hyperion series.

The skillet and fire don't change the nature of the origin of the egg or the chicken. though. And that's the analogy: which came first. Predestination paradoxes basically are a closed loop, events only happen because they've already been observed as having happened.

I am well aware of the analogy. I was making a little joke.

Apparently too little...

I want Madonna to do 'Mycelial Girl'

The show has introduced us to "angels" since the beginning, in the forms of Michael (Burnham) and Gabriel (Lorca). And arguably Airiam (Ariel). A post above brings up the Control/Uraei connection, which leads me to think more of the Archangel Uriel, although that's a very tenuous connection reliant on a novel.

I went through the Wikipedia list of Angels to see if I recognize any other names. There's a Daniel, which makes me think of Daniels, but even though he's a time traveller from the future, he's an Enterprise character and the name is coincidence.

There's no angel named Amanda or Zora. Paul is a famous Saint, of course, although he was named after a real world mycologist. Sylvia (Silvia) was a Roman goddess, and a version of her was the mother of Romulus and Remus, but this is diving too deeply into unintended etymology.

I think the clues for an angel connection lie with the three main crew: Michael, Gabriel, and Airiam, and no one else. This implies that a version of the Red Angel may have been in the making since Fuller, although it's more likely he was just being poetic and the Red Angel is a retroactive connection.

Michael is a woman and the main character and has been discussed. She would have a vested interest in saving herself, and have of course been a witness to much of the "Angelic" activity.

Gabriel Lorca is a tougher pill to swallow. He's not a woman (although the Escape Artist explicitly showed the ability to hide one's body shape in an exosuit), and his mirror 'verse version was shown to be disintegrated. It would be a bit of a mind twist for the Prime Lorca to be the Angel this whole time (and would require explanation), and even moreso for the Mirror Lorca to have that position (back to life a la Culber?).

Airiam appears to be an upcoming antagonist, and possibly "infected" by the Red Angel or the Red Angel's opponent. She was my main choice a couple weeks ago, but I think she's more of a Red Herring, after this week and the preview. She might be *a* Red Angel (if there are multiples and it's a group), but not *the* Red Angel (if it's one person).

Possible Calypso and New Eden connection: I'm thinking that Craft's home is the renamed New Eden colony and that the Red Angel is "Zora." This would explain why "she" saved New Eden's ancestors.

Craft is from Alcor, a real star and companion to Mizar in a sextuple star system only 83 light years away. It's in the Big Dipper, so you've probably seen it.
