Reboot is returning

That was one of my favorite shows as a kid. I'm sure it had no small part in fostering my interest in computers and the Internet (although I was already fully into computing by that time.) A bit cheesy, silly, and all over the place as far as anything resembling technical accuracy, but what a fun show. :techman:

I love this show for so many reasons.

The first and foremost is the show's evolution tied to my generation, much like the Toy Story franchise. When the show started, it was an innocent Saturday morning cartoon with lots of cute characters and puns. I was in grammar school.

By middle school, the show had gotten significantly more advanced. Plots went for entire seasons, and characters were killed off. Bigger threats were alluded to.

The last season premiered when I was in high school, and everything got a lot more mature and darker. The bigger stuff alluded to in the previous seasons was revealed, and they were not whistling dixie. The situations were really dire, and the characters showed how desperate it was. They had internal and external struggles. The characters had grown up and evolved with the viewer.

I respect that. It's something other shows that tried to stand the test of time (TMNT, anyone) forget: your audience is constantly maturing.

I never watched "Reboot," but I remember it being on. For some reason I just never got into it.

WOOOO!!! I hope they don't ruin it!

It's on before Transformers (G1) so maybe there'll be new Reboot before new Transformers (which is coming in the fall- with Cullen and Welker!)!!!

ALPHANUMERIC! maybe we'll get seasons 1&2 on DVD sometime soon now, or is the mouse still being a sandy lil vagina about the rights?

Woohoo! I loved the original ReBoot. Here's to a new generation. :D

That clip was put up over two years ago... I remember stumbling across it back in late 08 or early 09.

Nooooooo!!!!

I know they kept the show going as some sort of online web comic though I could never track it down to read.
I think with all the press CGI is getting these days its time for Mainframe to come back and claim their throne

Yeah, this has been in development for quite some time. When I hear something more definitive, I'll get more excited.

I'm curious to see if this will be a straight reboot (no pun intended), or if it will actually carry on from where the show left off. Since the series ended on a cliffhanger, I would very much like to see a continuation, but I get the feeling that's not exactly the plan. Too bad, although I will admit it wouldn't quite be the same without the late, great Tony Jay providing the voice of Megabyte.

I too also loved this show, especially its third season, after it ended its association with ABC. It got a lot darker, edgier, and more serialized -- great stuff.
