Please rate each of the series final episode for each of the five Star Trek series with between one (*) and five (*****) stars. No selective series rating -- you need to have seen ALL of the series final episodes to rate them.
For TOS - I'm using Star Trek 6: The Undiscovered Country, basically because Turnabout Intruder was the final TOS epsiode, but not an ending to the series, and Generations is really a TNG film.
My Ratings:
TOS: The Undiscovered Country - Five Stars ***** - a great send-off of the TOS crew and a grand culmination of the Klingon - Federation conflict. What more could you ask for?
TNG: All Good Things - Five Stars ***** - a phenominal ending to seven years of TNG, particularly as the writers had less than a week to do the script! Another fine Brannon Braga time-bending contribution (co-writer). This episode, not Nemesis, is the true finale of TNG.
DS9: What You Leave Behind - Two Stars ** - a prime example of how to cram way too much into a series finale. Trying to tie up umpteenth loose ends and plot lines left this episode way too scattered. Perhaps starting to tie up these themes half way through season seven would have given What You Leave Behind more breathing room.
VOY: Endgame - Five Stars **** - Another great Brannon Braga time travel script with action, poignancy, adventure, drama, you name it. Tim Russ did an incredible job portraying Tuvok with Vulcan Dementia. A great ending to a wonderful series.
ENT: These are the Voyages - Three and a half Stars ***1/2 - Ok, so it wasn't what I would have done. Nonetheless, I didn't mind the TNG subplot with Riker and Deanna. If I look at this not only as the last episode of Enterpise, but also the last episode of over four decades of Star Trek -- then I get what they were trying to do. And yes, I would have liked to have heard Archer's speech, but that wasn't what happened.
