So how did you like the movie?

Personally I give it ****½. It was funny, full of action, beautifully done in visual department, and did justice to all characters. Romulans, however, were left a little bland for me, but overall Nero was an alright villain.

I gave it ***** stars. Excellent, excellent film, and now my favorite Star Trek movie.

I'd say its probably my number 4 at the moment.

1.) The Wrath of Khan
2.) First Contact
3.) The Undiscovered Country
4.) Star Trek
5.) Star Trek: The Motion Picture
6.) Star Trek: Nemesis
7.) Star Trek: Generations
8.) Star Trek: Insurrection
9.) Star Trek: The Search for Spock
10.) Star Trek: The Final Frontier
11.) Star Trek: The Voyage Home

Its a reboot. Personally, I don't accept it.

As for the movie itself it was okay. The actors were very good, all except the guy playing Kirk. The sets were good and the special effects. The story was weak. Essentially, it was an action picture in space. Not much heart or brain.

It's in my top 2 with TWOK. I need some time and a few more viewings to gains some perspective before I decide if it claims the top spot.

Did not like it, it wasn't Star Trek. Unless they change the approach for the next film, the franchise is no longer for me (nothing to do with continuity, everything to do with it becoming another brain-dead action franchise). Ideas are dead.

I loved it. It's not Star Trek as I know it because my cast is old and/or dead so any Trek (no matter the canon consistent story) would be hard pressed to stand up to TOS. But this one does. Yes it's an untried cast charting new waters. Yes it goes in a different direction. But if it didn't we'd all be sitting around for the next 20 years watching them remake every friggin episode and movie they've already done. And complaining about it I'm sure.

For me it was a fair blend of character intro, plot and action. And still produced a summer blockbuster. IMO

I liked it but it was a little too star warsy for me. I hate star wars but i really think they nailed the cast.

I think this is the first ranking I have ever seen to not only have TFF ahead of TVH, but TVH to be in dead last place.

I rate it with 3 1/2, my personal number 5. Overall quite a disappointment.

First Contact
The Undiscovered Country
The Wrath of Khan
Star Trek: The Motion Picture
Star Trek
Star Trek: Insurrection
Star Trek: The Voyage Home
Star Trek: Generations
Star Trek: Nemesis
Star Trek: The Search for Spock
Star Trek: The Final Frontier

Five stars! First impression right now is that it's going to be my favorite Star Trek movie. I'll need to see the film a few more times to make that determination for sure, but all I know is that I hadn't had a reaction to a Trek movie like that ever before! Never have I left one wanting the sequel right then and there and the movie left me just shaking full of nervous energy last night. The movie was absolutely incredible and I can't wait to see it again!!

In closing, all I can say is that finally, STAR TREK IS BACK!!!

I gave it 4 1/2 stars (OK, 4 1/2 asterisks). The movie did have its shortcomings, mainly relating to the Nero/Romulus backstory, but they weren't nearly enough to detract from my enjoyment of the film, either as a film or as a Star Trek event. Then again I did read Countdown before seeing the film, so that helped.

TMP so high up, that movie sucked hard, sorry it did. That stupid bald chick ruined it for me.

Nemo? Guess we found him now. [/BADJOKE]

I gave the film as many stars as there were. It deserves even more. And yes, I like it much better than TWoK. And Nero is cooler.
