It obviously meant something because they tried again and when that failed, tried to built a transwarp conduit to the Alpha quadrant. Why not just stay in the Delta quadrant?

Or send, say, twelve cubes? It’s not like the Collective can’t spare them, since we’ve swarms of them descending on a single planet (that wasn’t Earth).

Maybe it's just me, but I don't let TV shows bug me. It's all escapism, some of Star Trek I like, some of it I don't. I have enough shit in the real world that actually bugs me.
