That's what happens at my store during Husker football games. I imagine the Super Bowl rush is even worse (thank God I never work Sundays!).
It's not as bad as the typical Idiot Panic when there's half an inch of snow on the ground, though.
What about during the pandemic? Over here people kept hoarding toilet paper and stores everywhere were selling out
The pandemic was absolutely insane. The worst crowds I've ever seen. Total chaos. Not quite as bad as, say, Times Square on New Years, but close!
I mean, when the pandemic first dropped, I'd open up the store at 6 AM and not 5 minutes later every checklane would be running and the lines would be halfway to the back of the store. And we weren't just running out of toilet paper either. We also ran out of things that made SENSE to run out of, like hand sanitizer (you could throw a bottle up in the air and it wouldn't hit the ground).
Fortunately, I didn't see many mask fights. Those I did see were mostly those who WERE wearing them, being 'maskholes' to those who didn't.

There is a bar...in the middle of South Philly....which is a big Chiefs enclave! Wall to wall Chiefs gear. It's called Big Charlie's.

actually I know exactly why they're closed. It's because the bar is about the size of a bus station waiting room, and there's no way they could handle the crowds (plus, even though the owners are huge Chiefs fans, they never really wanted a Chiefs/Eagles Super Bowl in the first place).

If I was them, I"d take in that bench by the door (plain black on street view from 2019, but there's a photo where it's painted red, with a Chief logo) in case the Chiefs win, or someone would deface it.

The bar has been there since the 80's, and the people in the neighborhood are OK with it. Everybody in the city knows that the owners are native Philadelphians (not outsiders) who just happen to be Chiefs fans. Sometimes even Eagles fans drop by for a pint.
The problem is the Super Bowl, specifically. The capacity just isn't there. I suppose they could have a big thing outside the bar, like they sometimes do, but there would be a problem with the fans clogging up the streets so it'd be hard for people to get home afterwards. Even the subway is a few blocks away.
And as I said, there's really no way to predict what would happen if there was a crowd there and the Chiefs win tonight.
Far as I know, they've never even PLAYED each other in the Super Bowl before now...
And I think most of the owners' friends in the neighborhood would keep an eye out for any random stragglers that happened to stumble across the place. I think a lot of the people who live in the area are also Chiefs fans just like the owners.
You know it might be an American thing but I have never had a glass of hot cocoa, I am told it's delicious
That's got me curious, out shopping tomorrow on my birthday I might go find some to take home if they sell it here.

I was skimming through an article on CNN about the objects last night, and it sounds like really don't know what they are. At first I thought maybe they actually knew what they were, but just didn't want to say anything yet, but it really does sound like they don't know what they are. Accoring to the article even the pilots who shot one of the first three down, couldn't identify it. They said it didn't appear to have any kind of propulsion system and they couldn't tell how it were staying in the air. No matter what they actually are, one thing is for sure, there's definitely something strange going on.
I just realized in the Star Wars universe anti grav technology is one of the most common things they have and almost anything can be made to float on air, then it dawned on me the pure hell it would be if such easy to get technology was applied here and say retrofitted to cars and aircraft. Imagine the complete chaos.
Image the chaos if we had kyber crystals.
As an avid cyclist, I'd love one as long as I could pedal it.
