I'm randomly remembering a movie that used to air on comedy central in the 90s that in retrospect is horrible in nearly every way.
I forget the name. This guy falls in love with a woman, who tells him she has an alcohol problem and shouldn't be getting drunk. He then kinda pressures her into drinking, and she starts acting out. They end up at a restaurant with his boss, who has a wife who's a Japanese woman made up like a geisha who believes she is required to just sit there silently and stilly. She follows her into the bathroom where she informs her that as his wife, she's entitled to 50% of his money. The Japanese woman now knowing she has leverage in a divorce then leaves the bathroom and starts exerting her free will. According to the movie, this is a line the drunk woman unforgivably crossed. And in the end the guy nobly forgives the woman.
Every part of this movie is horrible, but in the 90s it was supposed to be a comedy. I think Andy McDowell might have been in it.
Come to think of it, So I Married An Axe Murderer also used to air on comedy central. A movie with Mike Meyers where he starts to think his fiance is a black widow because he read a story in the National Enquirer. She starts acting weird because she thinks her first three fiances left her at the altar and is scared he will too, but it turns out her overprotective sister has been murdering all her fiances. Again, this was supposed to be a comedy movie.
