Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

Per Memory Alpha:
"Deanna Troi entered Starfleet Academy in 2355. She graduated in 2359, majoring in psychology."
"By 2364, Troi held the rank of lieutenant commander. That year, she was assigned as ship's counselor aboard the USS Enterprise-D."
"Troi tried to pass the Bridge Officer's Test in 2370...[cut for relevance]... Troi went on to successfully pass the test. She was then promoted to the rank of commander and began to include bridge command as part of her duty shifts. With this development, Troi acquired Starfleet status as a line officer, in addition to her previous status as a staff officer."

Yes I know I went to Memory Alpha to look her up before seeing your post here.

Why do people feel the need to post all their personal drama on social media.

Woman a: "I'm getting a divorce, leaving my boyfriend, deleting facebook, blah blah."

They never do any of that and they are always back the next day to post more drama and sometimes I feel like just replying to one of them to see what happens next but then realize if you do that you get sucked into that whole vortex of drama that they create. There's some seriously fucked up people in the world that need so much validation in their lives, go get a fucking life you morons.

Sorry. I wasn't sure and I thought maybe you thought that I hadn't. :)

Good question. When I do it, I'm usually trying to ask for help, but I'm not good at doing that, so I do this weird "please pay attention to me" sideways thing. I'm trying to do better.

I know there are Drama Monsters out there. I *try* to assume they have some of the same problems with asking for what they need as I do. But if it's a pattern and they never seem to do anything other than that, I've had to ignore or unfriend or otherwise step back from them.

Sorry you're frustrated. :(

It's only gotten to that stage because after years they just don't change and their other friends keep encouraging them instead of telling them to change or grow up...... I'm only associated with them because of other people who I know that are not that way and was roped into being their friend because they wanted assistance.

I have a nice 1920x1200 screen on my tablet and it's perfect for watching Netflix or other stuff like that, which is its main use or some of the TV channels where they have an app.

What purpose does a tablet serve if you already have a computer and smart phone?
I said the same... if I have a laptop what's the use for a tablet...
I guess if you are multitasking - you could log in with both in the same time on trekbbs.com.... watching and answering simultaneously to more threads :cardie:

They make these crosswalks nowadays ..... bumpy so that drivers should slow down.......
If there's no illumination something like this can happen ..... this is not a crosswalk but you can fly in the same manner :)

I was driving one night in another city about 100 km away from my city, it was dark, a normal neighborhood with some houses and they make these crosswalks kinda bumpy for drivers, so you can slow down for the pedestrians.
I didn't realized that there's a crosswalk since it was poorly illuminated had a bit of speed and I felt a strong shaking .... next day had to change my muffler
I'm talking about these...

They're kinda dangerous if you don't watch out....
I've seen the gif above..... and just remembered ....

The car became airborne when it hit the curb of the roundabout. The crosswalk itself needs to be flat to make it walkable.

I know. For the pedestrians it is. But it is a bit lifted so that cars should slow down.
In this GIF above the crosswalks are normal.
I was just saying that (in my case) because it was night I couldn't see the crosswalk and my car jumped a bit.
Something like this.... I believe they are called speed humps or bumps ...

I take my tablet to the office so I can read. It's a bit hard on my old eyes to use a smartphone for reading.

Guy was waiting at a light to cross the street east-west. As soon as the light turns green for north-south... he starts to go.

Occasionally (at least here), sleeping policemen too:D

We have more than a few near us, though on a few roads it's as "traffic calming measures".
So. Cal. has dips at intersections, primarily for drainage, but still pretty jarring if you hit them at any speed.
