Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

So...I need to figure out how to turn this feeling of uselessness and being behind the eightball into action. I have plenty of motivation, but I seem to be unable to act on that motivation and the more I see people doing what I really, really want to be doing, the less I'm able to act on those wishes and desires..
Sometimes you need a nudge to get on the right track because you can’t see how to do it yourself. I’ve been immensely helped by meditation. It has given me a means to control my feelings instead of letting my feelings control me. Perhaps meditation might be something for you to consider?

It’s a big issue this side of the water too. We have the NHS, but mental health funding and staffing levels are scandalous.

I often wish I could devise a socio economic political methodology that granted freedom and individualism to coexist with an efficient health and welfare support structure, that could be embraced by everyone. A sort of altruistic capitalism.

Bill and Ted were on to something, but the Math ain’t settled.
Altruistic capitalism.... I like the sound of that, as opposed to the (largely ) unregulated variety that we're enduring right now . It's killing the species. :(

It's mathematically possible to double the size of a sphere by cutting it into pieces (of very specific shapes and sizes) and putting those pieces together differently. You can of course reiterate the procedure indefinitely which means that you can increase the size of any sphere as much as you want, without limits!!!

(20-minute pause)

I need gin.

 well, they are useful little chaps: they eat tons of insects and weed seeds. And since they do no harm, there's imho no need to kill them. The local government's backgarden is nicely warm, has a pond and benches where the staff can have lunch outdoors - plenty of tasty morsels and enough to drink. Plus a warm and dry garage to live in during winter. The only disadvantage is the neighbour's cat but it's getting older and slower now.
Hmm, I haven't thought of my resettled mice in months - I think I'll spread a few pieces of chocolate for them tomorrow, as a little Christmas gift (the local gov's garden is right opposite my office, on the other side of the parking lot)

Wondering how I’m going to get up from this tiny plastic primary school chair.
We usually sit on the pupils' chairs in one of the classrooms during our faculty meetings and I think that the pupils should get more comfortable chairs since they have to sit on them for such long periods of time each day. I wouldn't want to sit on one of them for an entire day.

I’m having a Christmas potluck Friday. I love having company but I get so nervous about these things. I always want them to go just right and they almost never do.

Is it too much to ask to have one party where no one flushes something weird down the toilet? Just one?

Did you have to call the toilet repair guy?

A long time ago, an older brother of mine used to work on vending machines, mostly repair work and emptying the money container. He collected all the things in there that were valuable enough but weren't among the coins expected. After many years of managing like fifty machines, he had amassed an impressive collection of diverse things, ranging from foreign coins, old coins, medals... plus other things mostly metallic of a size of a coin.
He once showed me his collection... I was amazed!
