Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

I don't think there is anything more awkward that when some starts talking to you like they know you, and you have no fucking idea who the hell they are.
While I was riding my bike past the horseback riding a woman stopped in the middle of leaving stopped in her truck and started talking to me, but I had no idea who she was. I was kinda behind the truck so couldn't really see her.
I did think of one possibility after she pulled away, but I'm not sure if that was her.

I truly hate when that happens because then when they are gone usually it clicks who they might be.

Yep, that's exactly what happened today. The lady I think it might be is there quite a bit, so if I see her in the next few days I might ask if that was her.

What is it with people wanting to see dinosaurs not as real animals, but instead movie monsters subject to their expectations as entertainers?

Besides, floofy dromaeosaurs are cute.

So I was just thinking of something that came up in another thread a few years back...

I think "party line" is the wrong term. I was thinking of this thing we used to do as kids in the late '80s and early '90s where a bunch of friends somehow join in on one big phone call from their individual home phones, and chat up a storm. I don't recall the technical details now, but it was basically a party over the phone.

I actually wasn't remembering incorrectly, because the term "Party Line" actually was used by various paid phone chat services at the time. I think for a lot of people of my generation, this kind of thing would be considered the default definition of "Party Line" instead of the original meaning of a type of neighborhood circuit in telephony that didn't allow privacy for each household with a phone.

Actually crossed something off my Xmas list already--got two nutcrackers for my Mom; she collects them. Well..."collects" is putting it mildly. She must have about 75/80 of them. And they're the big ones--not the dinky little miniatures. I think she only has two or three little ones.

Luckily for me, Macy's was having a sale and a lot them were half off. So that's one thing crossed off my list.

How is it when you enter a tomb in a game it has lit torches and working machines just waiting for you and probably has been there for hundreds or even thousands of years in an untouched state? Or a hidden city that can't be seen from like space when it spans the size of a small town

I'm not really a big social media user, but I have to admit, I've been pretty mesmerized watching the drama of Twitter imploding in real time.

That being said, of course it's not just abstract drama... there are real people being affected. My heart goes out to all the Twitter employees who have had their lives upended and their futures cast into bleak uncertainty.

And to those who have been let go too, of course.

Ugly and weak, they called him a freak, so he lived on his own underground."

Hey America! Hope you're doing well. Just wanted to say hi and wish you the best of luck with your elections today!

Maybe one small favour? If you do decide to start, oh, say, a new civil war or anything after the results come in, maybe give your neighbours a little heads-up before? Just so we can shutter the windows and bring in the patio furniture and such. Thanks!

Your pal,
Canada

I thought my mother had bought pastries. I bite into it and it's not sweet.... and there's ham in it! What the hell?

Teaching Akinator to distinguish between Rawda and Bird Person took longer than it should have.
