just saw on msnbc that american lawmakers want to make the next weekend the last time that daylight saving time ends (in the us*) - why even have it? can people who like to rise early not just get their asses out of bed an hour early?

I am likely going to have like 2 pounds of political junk mail before this damn election is over. It's looking as thick as an average children's coloring book... numerous duplicates from all manner of candidates throughout the political spectrum, all the while they are running nonstop ads on TV, streaming, social media, and otherwise all over the place, as expected. They're absolutely inundating us on those platforms, & even sending us texts & emails in some cases
Political affiliations aside, wtf do you need to cram so much hard copy in our physical mailboxes for, in 2022? It's a disturbing amount of waste for just my park. Get with the program. No one needs this crap anymore

Watching Logan Lucky and the inmate's demands include a copy of "The Winds of Winter" for the prison library but the warden has to tell him that it and the next book still aren't published, and this is back in 2017. I was laughing my ass off at the mundanity of it all!

Over the past year I've learned that grief isn't exactly linear. It comes and goes. Just as I'm thinking I am coping and getting beyond it, I'll hear our song played in a store and wham! The loneliness and sadness come crowding back in. Doesn't really feel like it's been over a year.

I had to dump the rest of my milk because it went bad a few days before the sell by date. Do you know what causes this to happen? It happens every now and then but for the most part it doesn't happen. The fridge settings are the same. I don't leave the milk out. Did something happen to it at the store? It was perfectly fine for the first few days.
Due to discussion on here I ended up getting a copy of Damnation Alley because I lost my last copy of it.
The guys that wrote scripts for Dracula Untold, Gods of Egypt and Morbius are the same guys who created the new Lost in Space. To me, the new Lost in Space has been a really interesting modern sci-fi story, while the others are kinda....ehh. It's just kinda baffling.
If you mean the Netflix series I find it puzzling how those same people could do a good series and yet shit movies as well.

I don't think there is anything more awkward that when some starts talking to you like they know you, and you have no fucking idea who the hell they are.
While I was riding my bike past the horseback riding a woman stopped in the middle of leaving stopped in her truck and started talking to me, but I had no idea who she was. I was kinda behind the truck so couldn't really see her.
I did think of one possibility after she pulled away, but I'm not sure if that was her.
