Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

I still don't comprehend what went down in the Discovery forum. The level of fanatical gatekeeping is insane.
Same here......... No idea what the heck went on and I'm in the forums a bit here and there.
as i decided to binge the whole season (that's difficult at times) i wouldn't know as i don't want to get spoilert.

what are they doing? entrenchments and 'this ain't star trek*' - banners?

* not i n a hustler manner, obviously :razz:

I bought two packets of bread once and they charged me for only one but I was home by the time I had noticed the mistake on the docket and I wasn't going to trek back to the store when it was their mistake..
i really wonder how people start arguing about 3 cents with the cashier after having paid some 50 €. how do they know that? if i had to pay 15 € and they charged me 25 €, that i would get, but ...

Yeah I don't get why people would argue over a few cents.
I'm the kind of person that would have walked to the shop if it had been closer and paid for the loaf they didn't charge me for.

A filmmaker who used to be minimally involved with Star Trek who is known for being a rabid gatekeeper of "the canon" and a vocal hater of Discovery went nuts about something on Twitter, which got turned into an entire thread, and then he showed up to participate in that thread. He says his association with modern Star Trek is over, which would be like Johnny Manziel saying his association with the Cleveland Browns is over as some sort of stand he's taking.

I would love to know how animals minds work. There is clearly a mental process that goes on with them, but since they don't talk like we do it can't be the same kind of internal voice that we have. So is it just images, or feelings? I've watched enough animals over the years to know that at least with bigger animals, like mammals, birds, and reptiles, there is definitely some kind of complex process going on not that different from what goes on in our heads. There are times where I've seen my dogs staring at something, and it's clear that they are thinking it.

Observing how our cat reasons her way through things — or doesn't — I have definite mixed feelings about knowing what goes on in that fuzzy little head. That way lies madness.

I still wonder sometimes with pets what do they think about sometimes. I like how JD put it.
