Random DS9 questions

What set was used to represent the wrecked Cardassian Central Command in the final episode? A portion of the Promenade?

Did anyone draw the connection themselves that the Tosk and Jem'Hadar have the same cloaking device? I never did.

The hunter dudes probably got their hands on some rejected second rate versions of the Jem'Hadar, like a third world country using cold war era tanks and fighter jets.

When DS9 was airing, I did. I thought it was quite an interesting coincidence that not only do they have that ability, but their look is similar, and the Hunters said that the Tosk were 'bred for the hunt'. That implies the same genetic engineering creation as the Jem'Hadar.

I also always thought they were part of the Dominion. We just never saw them again, and that episode was long before the Dominion was thought of.

The Hunters didn't have to be part of The Dominion; the point of Star Trek was to expand the universe, not to make it smaller. Too bad those liquid aliens gave the impression they were the Gamma Quadrant instead of just being a part of.

To be fair, conveying a feel that underestimates the size of the galaxy is something Trek is known for. You'd almost get the impression that by the end of Voyager, major parts of it have been explored.

Why didn't anyone adapt the "shoot anyone anywhere, even through a wall" rifle from "Field of Fire" to be used in combat during the Dominion War?

There was a transporter involved, right? So any force field in between the shooter and the target would keep it from working.

I created this account just to ask for help and figure out the answer to this question. Google has no idea what I am referring to.
In DS9 Season 4 there is an episode that I BELIEVE opens up with a scene where Miles, Julian Bashir (has a cut on his forehead) and Worf (?) are in Odo's jail cell. One is left to assume that it was from a bar fight but the episode never follows through. I have scoured episode after episode and I am now starting to believe this was a made up scene in my head or dream. Did this actually happen and if so, what episode and time?

Sounds like something that would have happened half an hour after "You Are Cordially Invited" ended...

Given the Ferengi's insane method of union-busting, it's amazing the whole planet hadn't been taken over by unions.

The working title of "The Jem'Hadar" was "Dominion" and I sorta wish that was the actual episode title. Does anyone else feel that way? Would it have given the game away too much? "The Jem'Hadar" would have been more ambiguous, on the other hand I think there's something interesting about knowing exactly what you're getting.

I personally prefer The Jem'Hadar, as it allows the "It's a comedy episode!" approach to sit properly until the reveal, whereas The Dominion had been teased as a dangerous presence in the Gamma Quadrant. You'd be waiting for the other shoe to drop instead of not knowing what the point of the episode was.

I love the episode's abrupt change in tone, and it's really interesting to show it to people who haven't seen it yet.

Reminds me a bit of Fargo, where the movie seemed like a pretty lighthearted if somewhat dark comedy up until a certain point.
