R.I.P. Nicholas Courtney (The Brigadier)

setvenharis

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
Nicholas Courtney who played Brigadier Lethbridge Stewart has sadly died on the 22nd February.

Rest in peace sir. It was a honour and pleasure to have met you last year.

:weep:

I'm looking for some confirmation from a news source, but I haven't found any yet.

Very sad if that's the case, though. He was one of the bright spots of DW TOS.

That's very sad. One of my favourite characters.

I was hoping he would make a re-appearance in the new series but alas that opportunity is now lost.

RIP Brig. :(

Such a sad day. He will be greatly missed. I would have loved to see him in the new series. Sadly he won't be.

Ouch. This hurts. Count me as another fan hoping for a new series cameo. (The Sarah Jane Adventures is nice but it just doesn't count, dammit!) It's always a shame to realize that these people won't be around forever.

(Now I'm hoping the producers will use this as a cautionary example and squeeze in an Ian Chesterton cameo before we lose him too.)

:(

Sad news. I've only started watching the Pertwee era serials recently so this hits close to home. Three of this era's main characters are now dead. :(

They'll always live on in those stories in a way, though.

OMG, not the brig!..very sad day indeed for all longtime Who fans like us.

Damn. Though I've been watching Classic Who for the past year or so, I still haven't seen anything with the Brigadier yet. Though I did see Nicholas Courtney as Brett Vyon in Daleks' Master Plan on the Lost in Time DVD. But I too was hoping that they could have had the Brigadier return for a brief cameo in Doctor Who. Seeing him and the Doctor, two old war dogs reunited.

RIP
