Quick! 10 new Trek shows!!

Pah, I'm not listing ten ideas only for Kurtzman to lurk about and cash in on my expertise:lol:

What I would like to see is a Trek series that features Star Fleet very much in the background. 'Star Trek : Rogues' maybe featuring Harry Mudd or Cyrano Jones? That sort of character.

Sounds kinda familiar...

I'd not seen that before (and I only flicked through that one, tbh) although I had sort of heard of it through the legacy actors being in it. But, yeah, it is perhaps a way of showing that not all of Trek is shiny and clean.

So many people seem to dislike shiny and clean...

2009: "WTH? The bridge is way too bright. There's lighting everywhere. How can anyone possibly work in that environment?!"

2017: "WTH? The bridge is way too dark. I can't see a thing. How can anyone possibly work in that environment?!"
All starship bridges must look like the interior of a hotel lobby. Otherwise it is not optimistic enough!

Lower lighting is more realistic. That's how actual military command centers do it, so people can see their displays better. The Kelvin bridge, adorned with eye-level dressing room light bulbs, was the exact opposite of that.

My favorite bridges are the Enterprise-A bridge from TUC, the Enterprise-E bridge, and the Discovery bridge. I think the "bridge" of La Sirena looks nice too.

Can you guess what they all have in common? ;)

I would also add the Generations Enterprise-D bridge. It looked great with the darker lighting and added workstations.

Still playing with this. Moving characters around. Adding characters. Expanding things. Too bad I'm not much of a writer, then I could get a decent fanfic out of it.

Deep Space Voyager the Next Generation

An epic multi-POV, arc-based series in the mode of Game of Thrones.

In the aftermath of the Federation-Cardassian Wars, the United Federation of Planets has entered in an alliance with Bajor, a planet in a sector of space formerly controlled by the Cardassian Union. With the Federation’s aid, Bajor is attempting to recover from decades of systematic oppression and exploitation by the Cardassians. The area beyond the Bajor Sector remains largely unexplored and the UFP’s Starfleet has assigned three ships to explore and defend the region and has set up a Starbase to coordinate activity. Soon after Starfleet arrived, a stable wormhole was discovered in the Bajor system’s Deniros Asteroid Belt. The wormhole is home to the enigmatic nonlinear beings called The Prophets by the Bajorans and central to their religion. It also leads to the Delta and Gamma Quadrants. This has elevated Bajor’s strategic importance

Deep Space Nine- Formerly an orbital Cardassian ore processing station, the Bajoran Provisional Government has turned it over to Starfleet to serve as the base of operations for the defense and exploration of the Bajor Sector and beyond. In addition to Starfleet and the Bajoran Militia, there is a large civilian population on the station that includes Bajorans, Starfleet dependents and other foreign nationals.

o Commodore Benjamin Sisko- Starfleet Commander for the Bajoran Sector. Sisko is veteran of the Cardassian Wars. His wife, Jennifer died during the war and his son Jake lives with him on DS9, but he has misgivings about them being so close to the Cardassian border.

o Colonel Kira Nerys- Bajoran Liaison Officer. Kira was a member of the Bajoran Resistance during the Cardassian Occupation. She is still wanted in the Cardassian Union for terrorism. She coordinates activities that involve Starfleet and the Bajoran Militia.

o Commander Calvin Hudson- Sisko’s adjutant and old friend. Cal spent the war behind Cardassian lines coordinating a guerilla war in occupied territories, some of which remained in Cardassian hands following the war’s end. Like Sisko he lost his wife in the war.

o Lt. Commander Tuvok- Starfleet Intelligence. A Vulcan, Tuvok oversees various ongoing SI operations in the sector. Some of which might be above Sisko's "pay grade”.

o Commander Katherine Pulaski- Chief Medical Officer. A veteran officer with strong opinions, she's often a thorn in the side of Sisko and his unofficial conscience. She's also fond of needling Tuvok and has a low opinion of "spies”.

o Lt. Commander Data- Chief Operations Officer. An android. Data oversees keeping the station running. Given its blend of Federation, Cardassian and Bajoran technology it is a task that keeps Data busy around the clock. Not needing sleep, he is well suited for the task. As an android wishing to become more "human" Tuvok finds him fascinating.

o Constable Odo- Chief Law of Law Enforcement for the station. A shapeshifter of unknown origin, Odo was raised on the station by Bajorans. He’s strongly attached to the station and sees it as his only home. While nominally in charge of civilian law enforcement, Sisko likes to use him for Starfleet operations as well.

o Deanna Troi- An empath who’s half human and half Betazoid, Troi is the sector's Chief Diplomatic Officer, she divides her time between DS9 and the Enterprise. As a civilian, she's not always greeted with open arms by Starfleet. Her goals are often at odds with Commodore Sisko's. Picard is more open minded and she prefers the Enterprise to DS9

o K’Ehleyr- The junior Diplomatic Officer to the Bajoran Sector. Half Klingon and half human, K’Ehleyr is fun loving, wisecracking and hard drinking. She gets along well with Sisko and is buddies with Quark. Worf, the father of her son Alexander, is often embarrassed by her “antics”.

o Quark- A Ferengi merchant who runs a casino on DS9's promenade. He is also heavily involved in various criminal activities in the sector. As such, he and Odo have an adversarial relationship. He’s also a prime source of information for Tuvok, for a price.

o Garak- A Cardassian tailor who runs a shop on the promenade. He is the only Cardassian still on the station. His reasons for staying are currently a mystery. Though Tuvok certainly has a few ideas.

o Dukat - A Gul in the Cardassian military. Dukat is the former Prefect of Bajor and presided over the transition from the Cardassian Union to the Bajoran Provisional Government. Currently he is the military commander for the Cardassian territory adjacent to the Bajor Sector. He would very much like to be Prefect of Bajor again.

o Others
§ Jake Sisko- The young son of Commodore Sisko

§ Nog- The son of Quark’s brother, Rom and Jake’s best friend

§ Rom- The brother of Quark and the father of Nog.

§ Kassidy Yates- A freighter captain and friend of Sisko.

§ Keiko O’Brien- The wife of Miles O’Brien. She runs the station’s school.

§ Alexander Rozhenko- The son of Worf and K’Ehleyr

The USS Enterprise- A Galaxy class vessel, the Enterprise is the newest and most advanced ship in Starfleet. Its primary mission is establishing diplomatic relations with the new worlds beyond Bajor.

o Captain Jean-Luc Picard- The ship's Commanding Officer. Picard is a man weary of war. The prospect of commanding a mission of exploration and diplomacy has kept him Starfleet. He sees a new war on the horizon and is making every effort to change course.

o Commander Elizabeth Shelby- The ship's Executive Officer. She's all business, all the time and isn't afraid to speak her mind if she thinks Picard (or anyone else) is wrong. She has high standards and if she had her way the crew would be drilling around the clock.

o Lt. Commander Beverly Crusher - The ship's Chief Medical Officer. The widow of Jack Crusher, Picard's former XO and closest friend. Her son is in Starfleet and she worries about his future.

o Lt. Commander Michael Eddington- The ship’s Chief of Security. Eddington is veteran of the war and still suspicious of the Cardassians

o Lt. Annika Hansen- Chief Science officer. As a child Hansen was found alone on her parents’ science ship drifting through space. Her parents’ fate and the nature of their mission remains unknown. Raised by her aunt, Hansen entered Starfleet Academy and excelled at computer science. She is at times plagued by voices in her head. Only Dr. Crusher is aware of this.

o Lt. Worf- The ship's Klingon tactical officer. Worf was orphaned at an early age and raised by humans, yet is fiercely proud of being Klingon and sees himself as a “warrior”.

o Ensign Harry Kim- Operations Officer. A rookie right out of the academy he's in awe of these "heroes”.

The USS Defiant- A Defiant class light cruiser. Its primary mission is defense of the station and the Bajor system. It also serves as the flagship for the commander of DS9. The Defiant Class is Commodore Sisko’s “baby”. He developed the design at his previous post at the Utopia Planitia Shipyard on Mars. The Defiant is a warship, part of the legacy of the Cardassian Wars. Its crew is small and most are experienced combat officers.

o Commander William T. Riker- The Defiant's Commanding Officer. Riker comes across as a genial sort, quick with a joke and a twinkle in his eye. He's also known to have an eye for the ladies. In a combat situation, he's all business. A clever commander with a trick or two up his sleeve.

o Lt. Commander Chakotay- The ship's Executive Officer. Chakotay's homeworld was on the frontlines of the Cardassian Wars and now lies in Cardassian territory. He’s still bitter towards the Federation for abandoning his people.

o Lt. Ezri Tigan- Medical Officer. Tigan is Combat Field Medic and provides backup for the EMH. An unjoined Trill, who's not on the candidate list, she lives life to the fullest.

o Lt. Tasha Yar- The ship's Chief Security Officer. Growing up as an orphan on failed colony, where every day was a fight for survival, she keeps herself and tries to avoid making attachments. Ezri has made it her mission to bring Yar out of her shell.

o Lt. Geordi La Forge- The ship's Chief Engineering Officer. Blinded in the Cardassian Wars, La Forge can interface with the ship's systems through his VISOR, a device that enables him to see. As such he feels and senses what the ship does. At times this seems to cut him off from his crewmates and he wonders if he is losing his humanity.

o Ensign Ro Laren- The ship's Flight Control Officer. Born in a Bajoran refugee camp she'd never been to Bajor before this assignment. She's at odds with native born Bajorans, who see the refugees as cowards who chose to flee rather than fight

o EMH- Experimental Medical Hologram. A new technology currently being tested on the Defiant. Its inventor, Dr. Louis Zimmerman is on board overseeing the test. (or is he?)

The USS Voyager- An Intrepid class scout ship. Its primary mission is science and exploration. Most of its crew are in the Science division and the rest is comprised of young officers, some just out of the Academy. Because of this, the ship has been nicknamed "The School Bus". Voyager spends most of its time away from the Bajor Sector in unexplored territories on the other side of the Bajoran Wormhole.

o Commander Kathryn Janeway- The ship's Commanding Officer. Formerly in the Science Division, this is Janeway's first command. For her the thrill of the "hunt" is what drives her. She needs to know what's behind the next nebula and beyond the farthest star.

o Lt. Commander Jadzia Dax- The ship's Executive Officer and Science Officer. A joined Trill, Dax can call upon decades of experience from her previous hosts. Which is at odds with her youthful appearance. A close friend of Sisko in her previous host, he still calls her "The Old Man". A name that followed her to Voyager.

o Lt. B'Elanna Torres- The ship's half Klingon Chief Engineer. She served on the frontline in the Cardassian Wars and is wary having to make nice with the Cardassians. She feels out of place on a ship of scientists and over achievers.

o Chief Petty Officer Miles O'Brien- The ship's Tactical Officer. The real old man aboard the ship, he has a decade on most of the crew. A veteran of the Cardassian Wars, he's one of Janeway's trusted advisors and a father figure to the younger crewmen. (Just don't tell him that). His wife, Keiko, lives on DS9.

o Lt. Julian Bashir- The ship's Chief Medical Officer. Young, inexperienced and on his first deep space mission, Bashir is out of his element and tries to cover it up with bravado. O'Brien has taken him under his wing.

o Lt. Tom Paris- Flight Control Officer. Paris is on board Voyager as a favor to Admiral Owen Paris, Janeway’s former CO. Paris has been a disciplinary problem (and embarrassment to his father) in the past. Voyager is his "last chance”

o Ensign Wesley Crusher- Operations Officer. A gifted young man, Crusher completed Starfleet Academy in record time. He's the youngest member of the crew and very aware of this, as such he is over eager to prove himself. His mother is the CMO on the Enterprise

Beyond the Wormhole

o Neelix-A Talaxian merchant trader from the Delta Quadrant who has offered his services as a "native guide”

o Kes-Neelix's companion, an Ocampa who has psychic abilities and a short lifespan

o The Collective- Delta Quadrant races live in fear of the ever encroaching Collective. With the opening of the wormhole refugees are heading towards the Alpha Quadrant placing Bajor and the Federation in an awkward position. In the Badlands, near the Bajoran-Cardassian border, a “soft spot” created by the wormhole is being used by refugees to slip into the Alpha quadrant, but at great risk.

o Weyoun-A Vorta and native of the Gamma Quadrant who claims to represent the mysterious Founders, leaders of the Dominion

o The Dominion- A confederation of worlds in the Gamma Quadrant. As the Federation and Bajor push further into the Gamma Quadrant they meet more species with connections to the Dominion, including the Vorta and the fearsome Jem’Hadar.
