I just caught the end of The Forsaken on Virgin 1 last night, where O'Brien discovers the computer intelligence called Pup and puts him into a sub-program so that he can no longer play about with the main computer functions.

It suddenly struck me that at the end of Call To Arms, Sisko does a very good job at trashing the computer system. I hope O'Brien remembered to take Pup with him, otherwise wouldn't Sisko be guilty of murder?

I'd forgotten all about that.

Hopefully he hung around and played havoc during the Cardassian occupation of DS9.

In "Call To Arms" remember the program Sisko made that Kira ran later wreaking havoc in Ops? Sisko's program simply consisted of letting Pup out of the sub-program. Like letting a large undisciplined dog loose in a china shop.

If O'Brien couldn't delete Pup, the Cardies didn't have a chance. In fact, maybe their 'trash the system' procedure was just to starve Pup of attention so he'd go nuts again. ;)

It's interesting that, like a number of S1 angles (the old guy in "The Progress", the aliens in "If Wishes Were Horses") that was never followed up on. I've been watching on Virgin too, and S1's almost concluded. Been an interesting run during DS9's uneven teething, but having just seen "Duet" I now know the show's on the way up. :)
