Pulaski Fans

I am just curious to see a breakdown of the percentages of TNG fans that liked Dr. Pulaski better than Dr. Crusher.

So, let's keep it simple.

Did you prefer Pulaski to Crusher?

Yes? No? Indifferent?

Thanks!!!!

:-D

I'm not sure I like one better than the other. I like both Crusher and Pulaski. Although, I wouldn't have minded if Pulaski stuck around longer or made a few guest appearances!

I loved Pulaski! Crusher was boooooooring.

That about sums up my feelings.

I've finally gotten around to re-watching TNG and knowing that Pulaski is leaving in a few more episodes is a bit of a drag (I'm nearing the end of S2 obviously).

She's witty, opinionated, compassionate, a wee bit of a grump and reminds me of McCoy. The character was better than Crusher in my view, and I found Muldaur was better than McFadden.

I prefer Pulaski. In addition to what Josan said, she was adventurous and had a spark of joie de vivre that I never got from Crusher.

I prefer Pulaski. The whole Crusher and Picard thing was annoying and any episode she was in the middle of was dreadfully boring.

However, I couldn't see Pulaski being the centre of an episode either.

I think I prefer Pulaski too. She's probably the second-most interesting regular character, after Worf.

True, she's essentially a female McCoy, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Crusher's characterisation was basically a whole lot of nothing.

Pulaski, by miles. She was much more believable as a doctor. It's a shame they never brought her back, even just for one episode.

Mmm, I'm mostly indifferent, but now that I've actually *thought* about it, I kinda preferred Pulaski's spunk. Thinking hard on it, the only thing that I might have not liked about her was her attitude towards Data. But I suppose someone had to counter him! :D

Well, she did come around to eventually liking Data, accepting him as a sentient lifeform. It's just that she had to see it for herself, rather than just take his status for granted.

As she's got far more of a character than Crusher I'll go with Pulaski as well. First time watching S2 I didn't think she fitted in particularly well with the TNG crew but she definitely grows on you.

I liked Crusher (although she wasn't a great character), but I actively hated Pulaski. In my mind I always imagine she suffered an off-screen fate so brutal and horrific that they never spoke of it on screen.

Count me in, too. I liked Pulaski. And I liked her more than Crusher.

Yes, I can see all the reasons why people dislike Pulaski. And I agree with most of them. But there's no denying she has a persona, a presence... even IF it was an annoying one at times. Maybe made her seem more real?

And coming right off of Season One TNG... ANY kind of strong personality would add something positive.

And I do think Crusher suffers by comparison mostly because most of her eps sucked badly (although Pulaski didn't get any winners, either).

I particularly liked the Pulaski/Worf thing they did.
They followed it up a couple of times, so it wasn't a one-off fluke. I liked it. I can see where only Pulaski would have the tenacity to deal with Worf, and only Worf would appreciate someone like her.

Crusher is a bland awful character. I think she was pretty static in all of her 7 years on the show, more so than any other character.

Pulaski, on the other hand, actually had personality. Never understood the backlash towards her. How can people like Beverly Crusher? What is appealing about her exactly?

Wow there are a lot of Pulaski fans, so this would make the fanbase for her on here pretty strong and you guys make the majority on here while else where your the minority. I prefered Dr. Selar she was very sexy for a female Vulcan. I didn't mind the whole Jean Luc and Beverly Crusher minor type relationship that was gonna on in the series.
