Prince Henry's Wedding

So the 19th is the Royal Wedding, and I'd like to ask the Brits amongst us just
how much mind loss is going on in Great Britain right about now...
It all seems so exciting!

:)

There's a wedding on the 19th? ;)

I'm sure I heard about it but I filled it away as unnecessary information, i.e. forgot it.

I'm a lapsed republican (UP definition) but conversely quite keen on history and tradition.

Perhaps strangely, I'm really looking forward to it !

I didn't watch the last one and I have no intention in watching this one. I might take myself to the cinema to watch Deadpool 2.

If Mrs-dimesdan is not working, she may watch it as she did watch the last one.

If it was a Betazoid wedding, that certainly wouldn't be an issue
Don't forget that the entire wedding party, plus the guests, are expected to be naked.

I'm in no hurry to see the father and stepmother of the groom without their clothes.

Harry was already naked during the famous Las Vegas party 2012 featuring Ryan Lochte of all people. I guess Lochte isn't invited to the wedding, though. They didn't invite a big part of Meghan's family. They already complain about it.

I have no idea who Ryan Lochte is.
He's one of the top all-time olympic swimmers, but he's also had lots of controversy. He was one of those ones who was part of that whole fake robbery thing in Brazil but he snuck out before getting arrested.

I just don't have the interest in this one. Those second string heirs are soooooo well, second string darling.
He won't be if Charles is visiting William, Kate, and the kids and they all get swept away by the Vogons constructing a very localized service road to their hyperspace bypass.

Just think... if this was 500+ years ago, Harry would have been expected to go into the church. Can you imagine him in a monastery?

It's really hard to know about these royals. I mean they are 'trained'. I agree it would be hard to imagine but I suspect Harry would have coped if he were back then (probably would have found an outlet for his other interests ;))

I bet Harry actually feels relieved, since there’s really not a chance in hell that he ever becomes king.
I think he's gone on record with saying something like that. The recent birth of baby Louis has made it an even more remote possibility than it was before.

I’m still wondering why William and Harry were ever allowed to join the army. You’d think the royal family wouldn’t allow it, given how dangerous it is.

(Don’t get me wrong, though, I think it’s great that they did enlist. :techman: )

All the upper-tier Royal males are expected to have some sort of military career. Charles was in the navy, and Andrew flew helicopters during the Falklands War. William's day job was as a search & rescue pilot.

In World War II the Queen (she was still Princess Elizabeth then) was a mechanic and ambulance driver.
