Predict how TOS Kirk will be Resurrected

Redshirt Matter. It's like Red Matter only made from the souls of dead Redshirts. They launch it at Veridian III and Kirk is reborn.

Let me be bold and creative, and suggest that ST3 is in no way required to respect the "canon" of Generations (the Abramsverse has already ignored established canon prior to the Kelvin divergence point).

After all, if small but inconvenient things can be ignored in the movies (STII, Chekov never having met Khan), why not big inconvenient things -- like Kirk's death. After all, it's just fiction.

When Prime Kirk died he became God and nuKirk will have a final battle with him helped by Spock's lost brother Sybok

No resurrection required, Shatner and Nimoy will be future versions of PineKirk and QuintoSpock. ;)

Please no. It's worse than a cameo of prime k/s

We see a bed-ridden Spock about to expire from natural causes and as he passes into the light, we see the Shat waiting to greet him and these two brothers go off to explore The Great Mystery ...

:techman:

That would be kind of unlikely given that the Abramsverse doesn't depict any time period prior to the Kelvin divergence point. Or in other words, no.

Just because Space Seed didn't show Chekov meeting Khan does not mean that Chekov had not met Khan. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

There's nothing particularly "creative" about ignoring canon. The creative thing would be to find a way to do it that remains consistent with canon.

It pretty much rewrote Khan's backstory. The whole "Khan is actually space Hitler and going to do some genetic cleansing because he's the EVIL BADGUY!!!!"

Yeah. Among other small things that don't quite line up. There is room.

I still don't see why it can't just be akin to Baker's character in the DW 50th. Just have Shatner there and let it be magical and amazing. Don't get lost in the nitty gritty detail. Just enjoy the celebratory moment. It'll never come again. This is it. :)

I don't really think it contradicts anything from "Space Seed", just offers a different angle. I never bought that Khan was some Angelic Dictator who somehow controlled a quarter of the planet through nothing but goodwill.

For some reason, Picard mentioned Khan in the same breath as Hitler in a TNG episode. Maybe he really wasn't a nice guy.

He was so angelic, he was willing to kill the Enterprise crew one by one.

Neither did I think he was perfect. Dictators are inherently bad things. They even discussed this in the episode. No wars until he was attacked, but little personal freedoms. Etc... But nowhere, *ever* even in TWOK did they imply that Khan was murdering billions of people in genetic cleansing.

However he is brought back, I get the feeling that at some point near the end, a reset button will be hit and nuKirk and crew will find themselves in TOS uniforms on the old Constitution class Enterprise's bridge. They will not remember the events of the JJA films and all will be right with the multiverse.

Highly unlikely.

Not that I wouldn't love it, but based on the previous two films, this next one will yet again end with the crew warping off in the JJPrise to regions unknown.

Nobody as far as the movies are concerned has any reason to want to return things to the way they were; it'll be forward from here on out.

after the huge success of XMen DOFP I imagine something like that involving Shatner/Nimoy and maybe Stewart - possibly wiping Generations? (like the way DOFP wiped X3)

Different forms of time travel. DOFP operated according to "single timeline" theory. The Abramsverse is already a branching timeline and as such nothing that happens in it affects the events that we already saw in the Prime timeline.

How can there be a multiverse if a fan keeps trying to push them back into one verse?

You read it here first! It's gonna happen. They think it'll make everyone happy. But we know that's impossible! Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!

If they did that, I might just have a stroke and you'd all have to put up with posts likethisjbcbfy uudjsihvhvhvyc'

DOFP didn't really "wipe" X3, it just didn't acknowledge X3 happened.
