Power Rangers

Power Rangers was a guilty pleasure of mine when I came home from school everyday. I also saw the movie when it came out, and I LOVED it.

I'd also add Power Rangers in Space, Power Rangers Lost Galalxy, and Power Rangers Ninja Storm to that list of reccommendations.

Agreed on the first two; PRiS had one of the weakest overall Ranger teams in terms of acting ability, but a good storyline and an utterly epic climax. And LG suffered from some story incoherence in the back half, but it was a clever idea and had some nice subplots. I also kinda liked Lightspeed Rescue.

But I hated Ninja Storm. It was too goofy and its characters, both good and evil, were too annoying. I wasn't crazy about SPD either; the concept was pretty imaginative, but I didn't like the cast and the writing didn't do much for me.

I did enjoy Dino Thunder, Mystic Force, and Jungle Fury -- solid middle-of-the-road seasons with likeable casts. And Dino Thunder had probably my favorite Power Rangers theme song.

are any of the new ones as good as the original with tommy and billy?

Most of them are much, much better. The original had a good cast, but atrocious writing. From Power Rangers Turbo onward, the storytelling got a lot richer and more sophisticated, though the casts weren't nearly as good as the original group. There are some real standout seasons, with Time Force and RPM being the smartest and best.
oh, ok.

thanks bro. which one is the best since then?

Detailed character bios

THE GO-KAIGER:

Captain Marvelous:
Young Captain of the Kaizoku Sentai. Always sparkling, a "wild man". Desires everything to be stimulating, and is always curious. Once he sets his aims on a target, he moves forward without flinching, no matter what. He is the type to poke his head in where it doesn't belong, and he often brandishes his crew of 4 with unreasonable orders.

Joe Gibken:
A calm man, whose words are few. A compliment from this man is rare, a man with a serious personality who is hard on himself. Always training up his abilities with weapons, and never misses. Has known Marvelous the longest, and as such, he understands Marvelous the best out of the entire crew. He was originally an elite of Zangyaku but after coming into contact with Marvelous, he becomes one of the Kaizoku Sentai.

Luca Millefi:
An active woman who dislikes needing to have a reason to act. Excels in recon and exploration, and has a strong tenacity for treasure hunting, earning her respect from her peers. However, her need to get the treasure often makes her forget the mission in front of her, be that when it comes to the enemies, or her friends.

Don Dockoiyer (Hakase):
A man from a cautious sect that has an alarmist attitude, and always assumes the worst. He is a pacifist who causes trouble because he wants to avoid fighting. However, his quick thinking and rare brain power serves as a compliment to Marvelous' wreckless attitude. Inventions from his calm judgement and clear brain often end up saving the team when they're in trouble.

Aim de Famille:
Former Princess of a certain planet who was picked up by Marvelous in space. Has "Geniality" and "Grace" that doesn't suit a pirate, making her quite different from her 4 shipmates. If a person is in distress, she can't help but want to help them. However, because she is always looking for someone to save, she can be a pain in the neck for her teammates. Also, she loves tea.

GokaiOh:
The Gokaiger's robot they use during giant battles. Combined from Red's Pirate Ship, GokaiGalleon, Blue's airplane, GokaiJet, Yellow's Trailer, GokaiTrailer, Green's Racecar, GokaiRacer, and Pink's submarine, GokaiMarine. Usually, Marvelous and the others live inside GokaiGalleon.

UCHUU TEIKOKU ZANGYAKKU:

Waruzu Giru (Shireikan/Commander):
Young Commander of the Emperor's bloodline. Has an irreverent attitude, always showing his sense of being one of the Elite. Has a desire to get the Emperor to acknowledge him. Thinking the Earth to be a planet he could easily conquer, he lead a giant fleet there. To his allies, let alone his enemies, he shows a cruel nature. He tends to force his ideas on people, and give his subbordinates arbitrary instructions.

Damaras (Sanbouchou/Chief of Staff):
Soldier of Zangyakku who bears the name "Warrior of the Strongest Status." A monsterish warrior with fighting power, he is a battle specialist with a cool head. He is ordered to accompany Waruzu Giru by the Emperor, and assist him as his Assistant Operations Chief of Staff.

Insaan (Kaihatsu Gikan/Development Technical Officer):
Zangyakku's Mad Scientist. Supplies the "Action Forces" with powerful weapons, and remodels them. Using a special energy gun, she can resurrect an "Action Commander" who was defeated, and make them grow giant.

Barizorg (Tokumu Shikan/Specialty Officer):
A Cyborg whose whole body is mechanized, and who is completely loyal to Waruzu Giru. Has an eerie presence, and a systematic sense, and is something of a mystery.

thanks bro. which one is the best since then?
I don't think the fans will ever be able to agree hich one's the best. Power Rangers in Space is at the top of many lists, but it only really works if you've seen the previous seasons, it is the climax of the story before Power Rangers switched to the standalone season format.

I'd recommend Power Rangers Time Force if you prefer the show to be a little more dramatic, if you're in the mood for something comedic watch Power Rangers Ninja Storm.

SOme skirts there that I don't remember seeing in the original...
You will also see some skirts go missing, get used to it.;)

Already answered. (Emphasis added.)

To date, there's nothing since RPM; it's the most recent season so far aired. The next season, Power Rangers Samurai, premieres next month, and from the previews, it looks pretty lame.

Every time I look at their (non-Ranger) costumes, I think, "Hey, it's Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Sentai!"

And really, "Captain Marvelous?" Paging DC's lawyers...

All we need now is a break-dancing French chef and a reindeer doctor and we're all set.

It's 100 USD

I remember watching Power Rangers, I like the Brazilian-Aussie guy in the later power rangers series. I always thought he was kind of cute.

Good to see Bulk again (how exactly did he get back from Mirinoi?), and I hope it's a recurring role. But the "nephew" is a poor substitute for Skull. Schrier and Narvy had a great comic rapport, and having just one of them back isn't the same.
