Poster question

No, we'll get a "final" release poster sometime before May begins. My guess is that theaters will start rolling those out at the end of this month or early April.

Yeah but hell, you have giant displays for Heroes and Demons, Wolverine and other movies, yet nothing about Star Trek.

Some marketing push. :(

After INS and NEM I guess Paramount's just being extra-careful. Too much overexposure two months before the release might kill a lot of interest. After 1998 and 2002 and that disappointing pair of box office returns and "meh" reviews there's part of me that doesn't blame the studio for taking it slow.

What's sad is that our local 14-theater multiplex has posters for movies coming out much later than Trek, but no damned poster yet.

Is that a Paramount marketing strategy? :(

I think that is down to your local theater, since Paramount does not own the theater. Plenty of people have seen Trek posters in their theaters. I don't see a Wolverine one at my theater, for instance.

However, do you see anything like this for Angels and Demons and Wolverines?

Coming in at 17'x6' and showing up at theaters?

I made this one when it was announced we were getting a new movie but all we got to see was the return of the yellow and blue fabric:

And this one when we got a bit more imagery:

Am not completely satisfied with them, but I got bored with waiting for something else than mugshots.

^ Now you see, THAT'S what I'm talking about. Yes it's not perfect, but something like this (only better, no offence) is what I'm looking for in a ''TREK'' poster:techman:

It's all what was available at the time, and I already waited for that Enterprise pic to finally appear ... couldn't be bothered any more once more imagery started to show up. Which is a shame, cause there's some sweet material available right now. Who knows, if they fail to deliver I might start over and give it a proper try.

Not quite that elaborate no...

Point taken, though... at least they showed the trailer ahead of Watchmen the other night... Awesome.

what part of cali? are there any other major theatres in a one or two mile area of your theatre, chances are if there are then your theatre might not be getting the movie. usually out here in california(especially if your anywhere near LA) theatres get there bookings a few months in advance and usually dont put up posters for movies that they are not going to be showing.

These are nice! Not GENERATIONS or TMP awesome to be sure, but certainly cooler and more welcome than most for other films these days. I might grab myself at least one apiece of these if I can.
