Ta da!

The giant "Superman" logos in the middle of their chests looks too cartoon superhero-ish. And how would it look on women? I imagine the insignia would look rather distorted on, say, T'Pol's uniform.

Yeah they probably would. I was trying to make the whole thing look 50s scifi-y

No, I get that (especially with the shoulders) and appreciate it -- that's what I loved about the Kelvin uniforms in the latest film.

But, like I said, it just looks too much like a Superman or Batman logo to me. I guess the question is whether you want to (a) design something that looks like it was used in a Star Trek show made during the 1950s, (b) design a plausible uniform between ENT and TOS, or (c) a balance of (a) and (b).

I wonder what could be done with, say, 1940s Flash Gordon styles:

40s! not 50s, sorry. Got that wrong, they're kinda based on that flash gordon outfit in fact.

I wanted it to look like there was some kind of continuity in terms of style and fashion. TOS is a show that was made in the 60s, so it looks like the 60s and Enterprise kinda looks like the 30s. (In terms of uniforms and hair styles) I was trying to bridge the two.

The uniform is sort of based on what a uniform would look like between Enterprise, the kelvin uniform and The cage. The medical uniform is actually based off a uniform I saw in TAS somewhere.

They do look a bit Superhero like. I'll sort that out.

Edit: oh, and (c). but mostly balanced (a)

The concept itself was a good one, but in actual execution, it looks a bit too "Power Ranger-ish" IMO.

^One problem is that the logo was for the NCC-1701, until the TOS movies. And it still looks cartoonish.

Yeah I used the enterprise logo just as an example of where the logo would go and how it would be styled. I'll see what I can do with the cartooniness.

I like the colors! I think that's a great idea for each department to have it's own color. The logos in the middle of the chest wouldn't be my first choice though. They are very cool designs otherwise. Maybe the familiar logo on the side of the chest and a large one on the back?? Whadda ya think??

I liked having the "unit patch" on the sleeve in ENT. Reminded me of modern day uniforms. And then you'd have patches for the other sleeve for certain things, like the Battle of Wolf 359, or the Siege of Cardassia

I keep envisioning Kirk moving his hands and arms about as exaggerated whooshing air sounds are heard, as he talks into his communicator: "We need mega-starshipzord-power, NOW!", lol.

Another update.

Toned down the colours and moved the insignia

Edit: Here's what the medical uniform is based upon. It's from the episode 'The Time Trap' in TAS

^How? You can't see below the waist. It looks like the unfiorm that the TOS Gorn wore.

Ok, yeah, I'm diggin that. The new ones, with the shoulder-mounted delta.

Looks like something out of buck rogers or the like. Pulp, I think I'm trying to say.

Now, here's the challenge - what would an ENTERPRISE look like in that universe?

...too crazy?

Fine, fine, back to my hole.
