From an idea I had
Ta da!

Ta da!
Yeah they probably would. I was trying to make the whole thing look 50s scifi-yThe giant "Superman" logos in the middle of their chests looks too cartoon superhero-ish. And how would it look on women? I imagine the insignia would look rather distorted on, say, T'Pol's uniform.

No, I get that (especially with the shoulders) and appreciate it -- that's what I loved about the Kelvin uniforms in the latest film.
But, like I said, it just looks too much like a Superman or Batman logo to me. I guess the question is whether you want to (a) design something that looks like it was used in a Star Trek show made during the 1950s, (b) design a plausible uniform between ENT and TOS, or (c) a balance of (a) and (b).
I wonder what could be done with, say, 1940s Flash Gordon styles:

The concept itself was a good one, but in actual execution, it looks a bit too "Power Ranger-ish" IMO.
^One problem is that the logo was for the NCC-1701, until the TOS movies. And it still looks cartoonish.

Another update.
Toned down the colours and moved the insignia
Edit: Here's what the medical uniform is based upon. It's from the episode 'The Time Trap' in TAS
