Post a Random Fact About Yourself

Military color blindness tests report I'm red-green color blind; civilian tests say I'm normal.
I used to work at a video store that was part of a small chain. Everything in the store was red, the carpet, walls and even the shelves. I found out after the owner sold out to Movie Gallery that he had been discharged from the military after they found out he was colorblind. It explained a great many things.
The really bad thing was that Movie Gallery kept the colors the same.

I can cook Minute Rice in 58 seconds.

Okay, this one made my day.

As for me, I have an obsession with perfecting my lemon pepper chicken breast recipe. It's to the point where I cook it about 5-7 times a week. I always cook enough for two meals, but I end up eating it all at once and just letting it carry me into breakfast the next morning.

I have an unhealthy obsession with club and BLT sandwiches, and if it's on the menu, I will order it just to compare it to other places I've had one at.

There's a recipe thread.:)

I've never watched "Game of Thrones", "The Wire", "Breaking Bad", in the UK "Peaky Blinders" etc, because I don't want to watch what I'm conditioned to watch.
I don't want to be part of the herd.
Also, after the absolute genius of "Toy Story", I have never watched any of the sequels because I don't believe the original could be bettered or even equalled.
Weird eh ?

naah, I haven't watched those either. Nor Toy Story.
I, too, loathe sequels or remakes of perfectly good movies. Some things can't be improved and trying to will only end in disappointment. It's very much the same with movies made after very good books.

there is no tinnitus in my dreams, so it's a good test to know if I am still sleeping.
That's a good idea! :techman:

Random fact about myself: I ate my first jelly bean when I was almost 40. Yummy stuff =)

I have the same allergy against the herd mentality. GOT bored me after about a season and a half. BB was pretty good, but the other two I've never seen nor want to see.

Toy Story was awesome. :)

The soft or the hard ones?

there are hard ones, too??! Over here you get only one sort: hard on the outside and soft/chewy on the inside.

Today's random fact about me: 10 years ago I adopted 2 round eared elephant shrews from a nearby zoo =) IMO this species is the living proof that evolution has a sense of humour: tapir nose, kangarooh legs, koala fur and a tail like a mouse. "My" two shrews are elderly now and enjoy a well deserved quiet terrarium behind the scenes where I occasionally may visit them but their grandchildren are on display and are doing a good job fascinating the visitors :)
That zoo has cool adopters and adoptees: the penguins got adopted by the local ice skating club, the tigers by the ice hockey team (who call themselves Ice Tigers), the storks were adopted by all the local gynecologists and midwives. A cross-eyed meerkat got adopted by an optician, the beavers by a couple of dentists, the buffalo herd by the cops (which are nicknamed bulls over here) and one vulture got adopted by a husband who claims it has the same facial expression as his wife.

In order to hone my storytelling, one out of every three statements I make online is a lie.

I didn't enjoy pizza until I was nearly 40. For most of my life, my reaction to the taste of pizza ranged from disinterest to disgust.

I am currently sitting in a room with 120 glass cylindrical vases ranging from 13" to 17" in height, and each 4" in diameter.

Should I guess which is the lie?

My random fact: I cannot resist a donut. I just can't. It's impossible for me.

joining the Dark Side?

Like most redheads (I'm chestnut / brunette with a distinct copper sheen), no matter how long I stay in the sun I never get a suntan. Contrary to most who share my hair colour, I don't get a sunburn either, though :techman:
