Apparently, there are too few women taking the poll (or in this forum at all) for the result to be of any value.

I like Janeway fine, but I'm getting sick of TrekLit threads about Janeway.

Right now I'm not sure even the male results are statistically significant. We need a MUCH bigger sample size, both male and female, to get this poll to work.

FWIW, I'm straight, male, and feminist. The problem with Janeway isn't that she's a woman, it's that she's inconsistently and sometimes badly written. It took TPTB some time to get a solid and consistent characterization for Picard and Sisko, but they eventually clicked. I don't think Janeway really clicked. With Archer, it's hard to tell if it's the writing or the acting, but... oy.

I didn't like Janeway, particularly in the later seasons, because of inconsistent characterization and bad writing. I do much prefer her to Archer, though.
I do enjoy seeing women in command, but we've had so many better examples in TrekLit - Rachel Garrett, Elizabeth Shelby. I'm really liking Captain Dax.
I could care less about there being a woman in command.
I dug Rachel Garrett, for instance.
But Janeway I felt was inconsistent and horribly written. The character never made me think she was a captain. And SHOULDN'T she be in over her head out of science and exploration action? There's NO mention made of her ever having tactical training, as far as I recall.
And straight male here.
