Spoilers Please explain the baddie plan

The TNG cast deserved a better send off than Nemesis. Now they're finally getting it.

The fans deserved better than that dumpster fire STD or the lackluster first and seconds seasons of Picard. Now we're finally getting it.

I am happy. When the final episode drops I'll enjoy every minute of it. When it's over I'll be a bit sad. But I'll always be happy because we got at least 10 episodes of actual Star Trek.
I'm just gonna start assuming that when people say they've been missing "Real Star Trek" that maybe their eyes are just starting to go. I mean, we're all getting older. Happens to the best of us.

In an effort to help out our poor sighted friends, I've made this handy dandy visual aid to help show them that we've had "Real Star Trek" all along.

As you can clearly see, with the help of the large arrows I've added, we've had genuine Star Trek productions for years!

You don't have to thank me. Just trying to help.

In all seriousness, CBS/Paramount can slap the label "Star Trek" on anything and shove it out there. But a label alone doesn't make it Star Trek.

Actually, yes it does.

Green Giant can slap a label that says 'green beans' on a tin can of creamed corn. It wouldn't change the contents.

It would actually be if Green Giant always sold only corn, decides to sell creamed corn, and people who don't like creamed corn saying there's no corn in the can...just because they don't like it.

Or saying pinto beans aren't beans because someone only likes black beans. There are a variety of beans just like there is a variety of Star Trek.

This sounds exactly like the Wars fandom when Disney came through and purged canon and peoples individual favorites were thrown into the cold

Which brings me back to my really stupid question-"What's the big deal?" So, Disney threw out the old books. Did they burn them? No. Are they still available for me to read? Yes, in fact I'm reading Heir to the Empire now.

Same with whatever flavor of Trek I like. I like a variety of different Trek stories, and don't care for a lot more than that. Heck, I personally feel very strongly that Trek and horror don't mix, and had it pointed out to me that TOS (my personal favorite of the Treks) did a lot of horror type elements. Silly me, I had just forgotten or selectively ignored those episodes I didn't like.

This is something that I genuinely struggle with-why does this label matter so much? They make a Trek I don't like, and I bin it. Life, inexplicably, moves on.:shrug::shrug::shrug::shrug::shrug::shrug::shrug::shrug::shrug:

I enjoy the one and only "Real Star Trek" film..... The Motion Picture! It's Trek in its most purist, Roddenberrian splendor!

You know how I know it’s a Star Trek spin-off?

It credits Gene Roddenberry as the creator of whatever Star Trek it’s spinning off from.

And ya know, it has Star Trek in the title. (Except for those first two seasons of Enterprise.)

You'd get into trouble even for this statement on a Star Wars forum. You're supposed to say that the 2003 Clone Wars cartoon, Ewok and Droids cartoons, and Ewok movies were never canon (not that they were purged from canon) and you'll have a digital mob repeatedly keep pressuring you to say that.

Oh I walk in both worlds, I know what you mean

Oh, come now, you're using far too much logic.

You must have no attention span. The Cube came in on a transwarp conduit. It wasn't just sitting there, it chose there as a meeting point. Maybe you should address your hate at your own inability to fill in the blanks in your understanding with the details presented on screen, instead of the writing. And 2 posts later you complain about someone saying the same thing I did on the grounds that they can't argue that your complaint is invalid for not getting the details right because it was in response to something else.

What? The only way the plot of a show could work is if the show actually followed the plot? No shit. How can you legitimately complain about this? Do you expect to see all angles of every plan with contingencies for things that could go wrong? Why would anyone want that?

He misses everything and goes on rants about how stupid the plot is. Dude probably watched the episodes while spending most of his time and attention posting complaints here on another device. He is

"I have no problem with people liking it, but if they really like it I am going to keep harping on them about it." And no you do not back it up. You don't remember enough about what is said or shown in the episodes or in TNG / VOY/ TNG Movies

This is probably what most of the people who are complaining are complaining about, Trek in general. It is not real life, it is not a reasonable depiction of a military organization, it is just a space fantasy show where the good guys almost always win without consequence. The others complain when something new is not fully consistent with all that came before.

A show that was anywhere near as complex enough to be 'realistic' would not be entertaining at all.

Sorry, I was busy over the course of the last few days. Forget about why I don't like the show; why do you answer me at all? You accuse me of being angry all the time but I've actually had nice conversations with people who have an alternative view on the show and we've accepted our differences and carried on. You were the one who rushed in here when you weren't involved in the initial discussion at all. Why? I'm just curious. Makes no sense to me.
