Planet of the Titans U.S.S. Enterprise

*Very* nice work! Looks very sleek, and your attention to detail makes it actually look like a huge ship.

Beautiful work!

My only concern is the tube on the engines. Seems like an obvious place for enemies to lock on with their weapons...

I, too, focused on that pipe, and when I first saw it, I muttered, "Phasers ... locked." On the other hand, maybe someone at Starfleet thought exactly the same way and created a giant GNDN pipe on the outside of the ship to distract gullible opponents.

what, not the bridge plastered like a bulls-eye on top of the saucer? or the skinny little wing packed full of power conduit connecting the nacelle to the ship? or the...

*SIGH*

Not this whole "vulnerable hull bits argument" again.

I don't know if you guys know about this, but in Star Trek, they have these things called deflector shields that keep the ship not from getting pulverized, but from getting atomized.

that line's an impressive set-up.
i'm just going to stand over here and let someone else take it...

She's...so beautiful... :luvlove:

Would it be wrong to say that I'm in love?
Even the rather bulky nacelles don't look out of place.

I think the tubes would work better if the same element was echoed somewhere else in the design.

The biggest thing that bugs me about it is that it effects the first-glance scale of the ship. When you see a pipe like that you don't imagine it being two stories in diameter.

I don't mind a few exposed parts at all, but I based on the rest of this design I think it could be done better in this case.

I love how this design has grown and warmed. An arguement might be that it is a back up vent, so even if it were broken, the venting would occur to space as opposed to being captured in-nacelle with plasma re-constituted in non-combant scenrios. If a nacelle is hit, you don't want it to keep heat inside the coils. So it is designed to be exposed just so to take the hit and vent heat outboard.

Late to the party... Any chance of adding a texture other than GLARING WHITE to the outside? Or am I getting too far ahead? :D
