Pitch a Film for Paramount+

Something about the XCV-330. No idea what the plot is, but I’ve always wanted to see one of those “for real”.

I rather like this idea.

It'd be a chance for a totally new look in an era we know little about. Watching humanity take its early steps beyond our Solar system. All while still picking up the peices after WW3.

You could have the technology look almost contemporary, which would save money. Give it a sorta "beat up NASA" sorta look.

I like it.

while the third part can just be teased at the end with humans, Vulcans, Andorians and Tellarites working together teasing the creation of the federation, there's no need to see humanity actually win and the founding of the federation, the founding if the federation is especially boring and unnecessary.

Speak for yourself, but I would personally find a movie based on the founding of the Federation to be very interesting. And it's the type of thing that would be perfectly suited as a streaming movie, as per the OP.

The biggest issue is budget. In regards to sets, I'd expect any and all of these streaming films to work within the constraints of what is available to be used in Toronto with as little modifications as possible.

I fully expect to see a great many sets from Discovery and Strange New Worlds being put to use. If they were smart, whatever new sets were built could be repurposed for use in SNW and the upcoming Starfleet Academy.

I guess another way to go would be something I’ve also suggested as a series idea:

Star Trek 3200, about a major voyage/adventure of the starship Enterprise of that era.

I don’t have any good ideas for a Paramount+ Trek movie right now (although anything involving the folks from Strange New Worlds and/or Lower Decks would be all kinds or brilliant).

But how about a dramatization of the story of how the original Star Trek was made? Think Mad Men style period drama. Could be pretty cool.

Bonus points if they manage to get Anson Mount as Jeffrey Hunter, Jess Bush as Majel Barrett, Ethan Peck as Leonard Nimoy and Paul Wesley as William Shatner.

I was going to say a Lower Decks movie too, haha! Resolves a number of budgetary issues and leaves more wiggle room for casting voice actors. I think the story possibilities are endless, and likely really entertaining given what they've been able to pull off on the series.

Mad Men is one of the shows I like better than any Star Trek. (Better than almost anything on screen, actually.) I wish I'd thought outside the box like that--I don't know why my mind took that idea and immediately went to DC Fontana vis-a-vis Peggy Olsen, but there ya go.

The only thing I'd worry about with a The Making of Star Trek film would be the question.... would it be honest?

Would they show everything? Warts and all?

Would they show Roddenberry's womanizing? The alcohol and drug use? The sleazy buisness practices?

Would they show Shatner and Nimoy fighting for attention?

Would Paramount be willing to take the shine off The Great Bird of the Galaxy?
If they stick to the Mad Men method, which I personally hope they would, then...YES. Remember when people thought DS9 was controversial because it was set on a space station? Buckle up!

I don't think they'd do it. They'd be too afraid of the blowback from certain fans who think Roddenberry walked on water.

These aren't serious ideas (and I might have said these before), but a while back I was thinking of if Paramount+ did the equivalent of comic book annuals or fifth week events. I thought about a period piece version of "Assignment: Earth" set in the 60s and as if it were an episode of the show with new actors for Gary 7 and Roberta Lincoln. Another was a film set in real time and based on the Operation Retrieve concept from Star Trek VI, where a bunch of starships are supposed to do a mission that is meant to take a couple of minutes but are stuck in a star system for the duration of the film and you see the incident from different character's perspectives. I'd do the Star Trek II production thing of Enterprise/Reliant being the same set, only repainted, and only cast certain characters with speaking roles while filling out the other roles with extras. I just think it would be wild to do an adventure where there's no "war is hell" kind of theme, and more just "we are going to survive."

They’d never ever do it, not least because no one remembers it, but I’ve always wanted to see whatever mission it was that the scout Revere, scout Columbia and dreadnaught Entente were up to during Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

A) teams in small runabout style ships explore the galaxy from star gates derived from Iconian gateways. The catch is they can't bring in large starships because of limitations to the reverse-engineering.

B) The Dyson Sphere from TNG is equivalent to 1.6 million times the size of the Federation's surface area. Set up a base there.

C) Star Trek Cyber: Hackers defend the Federation from cyber threats. Romulans apparently are very good at it. Duels ensue, many replicated hot pockets consumed.

D) Temporal Patrol. They solve time so you don't have to. Hand us a migraine hypo please.
