Pictures leaked!!!

So how would a Volcano figure into the plot?? They discover it's full of red matter?

He was lifted ten stories, so about 100 feet, into the air and "dropped" towards the volcano. So where was he standing? On the rim? He obviously needed a set of boots like Spock Prime had in TFF. (Come to think of it, so did Kirk and Sulu in ST09.)

So, a jungle planet with volcanoes. Guess that explains why Hawaii had come up as a shooting location.

Evidently then, there will be a scene where Spock is on Qo'noS, unless Rura Penthe has a volcano also. At this point, anything is possible. That ought to be interesting. Jungle planet does suggest Qo'noS though. Well, Klingons are the villains, but which ones?

If J.J. and his team decide to honor ENTERPRISE and TOS canon in respect to the Klingons, I imagine we'll see both smooth-headed as well as ridged Klingons if they are indeed in the next film. Nero might have changed history post-2233, but the change in the Klingon appearance happened almost eighty years before the Narada emerged from the black hole and altered everything. It'd still be in effect unless the Empire found some way to reverse/cure the cosmetic effects of the virus and Augment DNA earlier than it did in the original timeline.

Not if it over-complicates the story being told.

Absence of one or the other type of Klingon won't mean that JJ is ignoring canonical events. Just that he chose to show only one type on camera.

Well, like I said in my above post we could always conjecture that the Empire found the cure for the head ridge dilemma earlier in the post-Nero timeline than it did in the original(which seemed to happen sometime around 2270). J.J. wouldn't even need to acknowledge it and confuse people...anything's possible now that the timeline's been altered. Hell, we have Uhura knowing and being fluent in all three Romulan language dialects in this version of 2258 whereas in the old timeline Romulan culture was still a profound mystery well into the 24th century.

The Klingon doctor who engineered the klingon augment virus suggested he might take up reconstuctive surgery, after the cure was found. Maybe he did.

Antaak (John Schuck) was quite the skilled and talented s.o.b., wasn't he? ;)

No, it probably won't. If any nods are made to ENTERPRISE or other TREKs they probably won't be crucial to the plot and might just be throwaway lines such as "Admiral Archer's beagle" or "Cardassian Sunrise." Things the hardcore fans in the theater will wink and nod about but the average filmgoer will pay little or no attention to. If Klingons are in the movie but only the ridged ones are shown it's possible we might get a line akin to: "Wait, I thought Klingons looked more like us(humans)" or "they don't look the way I was told" as a bone to the TOS fanbase, but that might be about it.

I don't think having smooth and bumpy Klingons together would confuse anyone. The whole message of Trek is one of diversity. Let the Klingons be diverse too, no more explanation required than the odd-looking Romulans in the background on Nero's ship, with strange noses and lumps and bumps.

"Some Klingons look like humans" is what newbies will come to realize. And thats all they need to know. Thats all there is to it.

It would be nice to see the tension between the machiavellian "smooth" klingons and the honorable other kind.

Is Spock on the deflector dish in this shot? Or maybe something that's gonna be CG'd over into the deflector dish?

(Erm... I am allowed to hotlink TrekToday pics, right? "We are all one big happy fleet" ....right?)

Could that suit be an orbital skydiving suit? With the new, closer pics it reminds me an awful lot of the suit they had Kirk wearing in Generations.

an interesting comment by Orci in Trek Movie about Spock´s suit.

"He executed an innocent PA on the spot... He is being lowered into a Pon Farr chamber where… Well, you’ll see."

Pon Farr chamber?
