:guffaw:

I have been caught on camera lately:

(As the person who took the photo freely admits: she can't hold a camera steady to safe her life, so the quality leaves something to be desired ;))

I quite like this one, though:

I was walking the dogs near my parents home, I snapped this picture of Fort Pannerden from across the Waal river (the Rhine => Rhine / Waal junction is half a km upstream).

Built in 1872 it was to supplement "Fortress Holland". However new weapon developments soon outdated the purpose of the Fort and it never really served its real purpose. It fell in disuse after the second world war and has only recently been restorated.

I live in a great neighborhood in Brooklyn, full of starving artists, poor hipsters, and lower-middle class Dominican families. It's funky, fun, full of great food and parties, and culturally rich and diverse. As such, the neighborhood is full of murals of a wonderful variety. There are distinctly Dominican murals full of bright flags and tropical settings, classically urban murals with intricate graffiti art, and a whole strip of buildings that looks as if Terry Gilliam attacked it with all his weird, marvelous might.

So, when my landlord said that he was thinking of painting a mural on the cement side-wall in front of our building, I thought, "Cool!" Little did I know that we'd be getting THE WORST MURAL EVER...

The Little Mermaid:

Who appears to be suffering from a terrible case of the mumps, and who, in her fevered state, seems to have forgotten to pull her clam-shells up. Nice nipples, Ariel:

And yes, Sebastian is pinching her ass.

^ Truly. Having spent the better part of a decade doing murals and scenic paintings for the theater, this thing just makes my skin crawl. I could deal with the crude sexualization of a Disney character a little better if the final product had been rendered with a little more thought and skill. I hope I am not speaking out of turn with my critic.

I also can't help but wonder what happened to the members of AC/DC. Who replaced them with folks that look as if they just escaped from a nursing home? However, the ginormous blow-up aging stripper riding the phallic train makes me giggle and wonder where the "Sponsored by Viagra" advertisements are. (I am a little shocked. I just realized if they are looking old than I must be getting that way too! :cardie: )

As McCoy would say, "What's so damn troublesome about not having died?!"

Angus Young is still a 54 year old epileptic kid who tortures his SG so well. The other members' ages range from 58 to 62... Still in shape too.
