Har dee friggin' har!

I saw a Vulcan fly today at the Royal Netherlands Air Force public days. Not the pointy ear kind, but the last flying survivor of the Avro Vulcan; one of the V-Bombers of Britain's Nuclear Strike Force. With a wingspan of 33 metres this aircraft is an impressive sight to behold both on the ground and in the air. The funds to fly and maintain this aircraft are raised completely by public donations and fundraising events. So I did my part by shopping in their (well priced!) gift store.

For size comparison, in this picture the Vulcan flies in formation with a Hawker Hunter and a F-16.
After its flight, it was being refueled. Which took too long for me to get a nice shot from the front side. So I opted for a rear view.![]()
Thanks, I've got more. I'll PM a link.^ I really should go to one of such shows one of these days. never been to one and I don't want to miss out on history in action only because I've been too lazy. Although I must admit I wouldn't know where to find one.
Love the pics, Omnius! I think I had a model vulcan when I was a kid.![]()

Henry has no clue how heavy he is, likes to accelerate to full speed and then jump on laps, and just generally has too much energy. I love him.![]()
