I've probably posted this one before but thought I'd take the new Photo Album feature out for a spin...

You have posted it before, but I have to say: you have some of the best wedding photos of anyone I know. They're wonderful.

Thanks! It's what we spent most on for the wedding and it was totally worth it!

And my cat, Kira- she's just been diagnosed as diabetic, but is doing well.

Awww, she's such a cutie! I hope she continues to do well. How old is she?

She's 14, and so is her "brother" Eddie. Both were strays who followed me home within two months! She's a bit scruffy now. Grooming isn't one of her priorities these days.

I can't even find the words to describe how wonderful our sushi was last night so I'll let the picture speak for me...

The appetizer was a smoked tuna and other fish meats dip and we shared the assorted sushi dish. We're staying at the Opryland Hotel and called in for our breakfast "in bed" this morning

Can I just live here forever??

Today is the 60th anniversary of the Federal Republic of Germany and its constitution. Also, a new President was elected (Don't worry, you didn't miss anything, the President doesn't have any real political powers, just representing the country and signing laws after making sure they adhere to the constitution).

Due to the anniversary I was out around the Parliament (there was a festival nearby) and took some pictures:

The Reichstag (the Parliament building) reflected in a glass facade.

The entrance to the Parliament building, where the election took place (the President is elected by the PMs and citizens selceted by the state parliaments).

Gratuitous patriotism shot.

Only a few hundred metres away, no one cares.

We do care. One guy (I pxielated his face) and me holding up signs with articles of the constitution we feel is endangered. His is freedom of speech. Mine is privacy of correspondence, posts and telecommunications.

My father in law was a professional photographer who did a lot of weddings. He always said not to skimp on the photography.

My conflict of interest detector is bouncing right off the scale!

Elmo's stepmom bought us a night at the Opryland Hotel to get us out of the house long enough to set up for the "Nashville" reception which we enjoyed last night here at their house (my sister and her daughter came up from Alabama, and AntiDrone came over too )

Anyway, below are left and right views from our balcony

^ I love this bar - we had a few drinks here until last call. The outer ring of table and chairs slowly revolves so you can take in every possible view. We left the balcony doors open and slept to the awesome roar of the waterfalls.

^ And off to the right you can see the restaurant where we ate our sushi dinner earlier in the evening.

Also.. J Allen, you do have gorgeous eyes

^ Don't you mean AstroSmurf? And that hotel is amazingly beautiful! I always thought it had a very "French Quarter" vibe to it.

You really should borrow some of you sister's pictures to post.

I'm glad you're enjoying the Opryland experience SPOCKED. I spent five days there on business back in 1994 and the place was a godforsaken hellhole. I'll never get those five days back.

It looks like they've done a nice job of improving the place over the past 15 years though, especially with the center courtyard and the food.
