Our cruise companions on the left, "The Hubby" in solid blue and me on the far right in blue stripes:

This is a really good snap. I approve of your choice of drink too. And your shirt pattern (I just recently ordered one in a similar bengal stripe, but a shade darker blue).

The guy on the far left is a dead-ringer for a former work colleague of mine.

Why, thank you, kind sir. You're clearly a man of good taste and breeding. ;)

The man on the left is named Mark, originally from Western Massachusetts, then the Boston area for several years, then he and his lovely wife moved to Chicago for several years, and now they're back in southwestern Connecticut. Sound familiar?

No, different fellow, and looking closer the build is different too. But in terms of their faces, it's doppelganger city.

I was just thinking TrekkieMonster looks almost exactly like a guy at my church (though younger)!

And since I now know how, reposting the pic I liked to above:

Drinking martinis. Those better be gin-based. :p

The Hubby's is gin (Beefeater with a twist); mine is Gray Goose. As mentioned in the alcohol thread, I like gin but it doesn't like me. But, vodka likes me very much.

Love all that history, SPOCKED! Been looking for a good biography of George Washington, any suggestions?

Here is RANGER, 11, shooting her cricket

We discovered that shes cross eyed dominant so I had to spend a lot of time with her today teaching her how to shoot south paw. She did pretty well. At 50 yards she isnt gonna be able to place her shot anywhere she wants, but I sure as shit wouldnt count on her missing you. It will take time to get her used to shooting like this. Oh dont blame me for the hat. That's due to the poor choices her mother made. :shifty:

Here is ALVIN YORK (formerly SAPPER), age 9 1/2 with his Cricket and his first time shooting an AR.

His name has now been changed to Alvin York because for being 9 years old, and using nothing but that cricket and cheap .22 LR, his groups are impressive as all get out. I cant wait till he gets bigger and I can move him to a better rifle. He wants to join a competitive shooting team and participate at the junior level. Time to find a 4H club then.

And here we have yours truly

Yep thats me in my glorious fatassness. At this point Ive dropped 20 lbs and continue to drop. Anyways in these pics I was just having fun. This is the first time Ive shot rifle / carbine since I destroyed my shoulder last July (the surgery was the last week of December). I was having fun because I left my leatherman at home and didnt have anything to adjust my irons or optic (no a round wasnt cutting it with the front sight post). Cool think is that I was about right on zero.

P.s though intentionally not in the pictures, an adult was within inches of the kids when they were firing, watching their every move like a hawk, ready to intervene at a moments notice.

They make that air rifle with a pink stock or did you paint it?

Dude, how come you're not nekkid? False advertising!

And no, hot shell casings are not an excuse.

Its not an air rifle. That is a real rifle shooting .22LR ammo.

Like I said, in public I wear clothing.

Ah, that brings back memories FrontLine. My dad was a farmer, so he was a pretty fair shot when it came to varmints (22 and shotgun). But my mom was a ranch girl from Colorado who could ride AND shoot. She's still proud of the NRA Sharpshooter Medal she got back in the early 50s.

Both my parents wanted us kids familiar with shooting, so I spent many happy hours plugging away at targets on the range or, when we were up in Colorado, shooting cans off fence rails. :sigh:

So, we're doing bookshelves, are we? Well, mine aren't that impressive, but alright:

Yeah, it's mostly science-fiction and fantasy... what did you expect? :p Plus I have a bunch of other books in boxes somewhere -- I still haven't completely unpacked from when I moved last year.

To the right of the last shot is some assorted Shakespeare plays and a couple of Trek books, but I forgot to take a picture of it, so I'll just say it's spectacular and leave you with no photographic evidence to prove me wrong. :D

I did remember to get a shot of my small graphic novel (etc.) shelf though:
