PICTURE POST!

GLW looks more energetic and bouncy at the age of 82 than I do at 37. Hell, she could probably put a lot of us to shame..she looks pretty much the same now as she did in "Flashback(VOY)" and that was filmed over fifteen years ago.

That must be so awesome to sit down and have lunch with a classic TOS actor and ask her about her life and career. Around here the only celebs of any kind you can hobnob with are the local TV news anchors or cable access stars. Maurice has some really cool connections. He's only lucky little s.o.b. Kudos, man.

^Did I mention that last time I went, I took needlepoint with me, so I could occupy myself while the people I was with watched the game? ;)

:wah: Heartbreaker...

(for those of you who don't know what the hell we're talking about... here is a pic of the site where Baltimore's Memorial Stadium once stood. It is now a YMCA field. Cal Ripken helped arrange its construction.)

In The Time Machine (2002), Orlando Jones is doing the Vulcan salute but you can see him preparing the gesture 5-10 seconds before actually showing it

I was watching the Mets vs Braves on Gameday on my computer last night, while trying to get some editing work done. I'm so far behind, but thats another story. I look up at the screen and notice something, on the right hand side is the Dharma symbol from Lost and a signs with Duality underneath it. Now I have never been to Atlanta's ballpark, but I have to figure that Dharma symbol is something added by who ever makes the ballpark for Gameday.

You are the most interesting person in that pic, Ziyal, you just have to remember that we're nerds and, that much like rednecks, we're attracted to shiny objects. :ouch:

Ziyal looks very shiny to me in that pic :D

Not everybody looks great wearing shiny, colorful jewelry. I've seen some people that can't even put on a class ring from high school or college and have it look good on them, but Ziyal just looks like she was made for a necklace like that. Kudos.

And here we go, a picture of me in April 2010, taken by the woman who created the necklace I had just bought.

You remind me a great deal of my English teacher my sophmore year of highschool, and I mean that in the nicest possible way. She was a wonderful, kind hearted woman who passed me despite everything.

Gosh, you're adorable -- and I love your style! It's so nice to have a face to go with the screenname, I've been picturing you as the character for ages!

(PS [shameless plug] If you are interested in fun and authentic Native American jewelry, my little sister makes earrings and other traditional and not-so-traditional crafts: I'm wearing earrings she made right now, in fact![/shameless plug]

^ I actually taught English for a while, to adults (GED, ESL, etc.). I was kind, but tough.

Sounds like her. She made me completely re-write an entire paper that my final grade hinged on. I resented it at the time, but now that I work in student services I realize she did so as a kindness. :)

Thanks, TSQ. You're all making me :alienblush:.

I can't buy any new jewelry right now -- I don't get out of the house enough to justify spending the money :( -- but I'd love to see pictures of your sister's work.

Satyrquaze: Yup, that sounds like kindness. :)

That wasn't what I meant at all. I'm not talking about the necklace.

I meant it!

I emailed her and asked for some pictures of her jewelry -- we've talked about adding her stuff to my Etsy shop, actually, to try to capitalise in a minor way on the trendiness of Native American art (even though we both feel a little...bad about it, but hey, she's broke!). I did find a picture of her wearing some earrings she made, and I can take a pic of the ones I have when I'm not utterly exhausted. :)

Here she is, my adorable baby sis (AKA The Whitest Half Indian In The World) modeling a pair of her lovely earrings:

And, just cause it's a pretty picture I found on facebook while looking for pics of my sister's work, here's my mom and my nephew:
