We have a flag!

*must be said in Eddie Izzard way*

No Flag, no Country!

Those are the rules... that I just made up!

And good rules they are :D

And the bigger the flag, the better! And it must be intriculary (sp? I'm still suffering from 'over lunching') designed ~ none of your just '3 colours in a row' stuff!

And the man that plants (?) the flag MUST be wearing a hat! (that's in rule 3, subsection 2a) :)

I love old photos. Your grandfather looks like a wonderful man, J.

This is my favorite. :)

Here's a bit of nostalgia for my grandfather: he died only a few weeks after I was born, but he left his piano for me to enjoy.

I like "intriculary." I don't know what it means, but I like it.

Oh, oh, let's make up a meaning for it.

I think it should mean... let's think... 'in' could be a combination. 'tri' means 3, and culary is a little known Irish instrument.

So "intriculary" means 3 Irish men (or women) playing the same musical instrument at the same time :D

Other suggestions welcome :)

Oh God! It's 2am and you're making me think... something to do with cutlery?

"I looked in my cutlery drawer and my knives and forks were 'intriculary' linked"...

Ba Da...:D

If you can get that into a conversation tomorrow then you get a gold star :techman::lol:

Nope, still not doing it for me.

I picture it being an adjective having something to do with pathways or tunnels...not sure why.

I have the phrase "intriculary junction" stuck in my head.

^It sounds more like a medical term to me: the interculary artery. Which I suppose could have to do with cutlery, depending upon how homicidal one is feeling...

 I'm leaving you two to it. It's the middle of the night and I have a buffet for 40 senile golfers tomorrow ~ Oh the Joy :scream:

nite nite x

Thanks, K'eh. He was a wonderful man. What I remember most about him was that he was a hugger (like me). He'd pick you up (short, tall, fat, skinny, young or old, didn't matter!) squeeze you and give you a kiss on the cheek, and he did it well up into his 60s, right before he became too ill to do it anymore. He never lost that pure love and joy for everyone.

Oh, yes. The cute little dog's name is Missy, and she was his pride and joy. It was so much fun watching him play with her, and when they were both tired, he'd lay back in his Barcalounger (no pun intended) and she'd jump up in his lap.

Oh, that is so sweet. :)

Since some of us are posting old family photos, here's my mom and dad at their wedding reception!

What a handsome couple! Beautiful picture, KM. I love old wedding photos.

As long as we're breaking out the old photos, here's a wedding photo of my Grandparents on my Father's side.

When was this picture taken? My grandparents (my mom's parents) were married in 1942, and your grandpa bears a STRONG resemblance to my grandpa.

I don't think it's him though, your grandma looks nothing like mine.

I'm not entirely sure but it was probably late 30s or early 40s. They're from the East Coast of Canada if that helps.
