PICTURE POST II!

I've officially given up on Canadian winters and will do my darndest to only travel there from May to September. I'll stick with wet but above-freezing southwestern English winters, thanks.

Some pics of the kids from today.

My wife tied it, I then fixed it but after the photo.

We're in Skaneateles NY for their kickoff of Charles Dickens holiday fest. I will post some pics of that later but here is Lake Skaneateles

Nice photo. One end of the Finger Lakes. I've always wanted to fish the Finger Lakes.

My brother's driveway after the first proper snowfall in central Ontario, taken two weeks ago. Pristine snow such as this is so beautiful, especially on the trees.

It's so, so beautiful in the North Kawarthas. My original plan during my visit was to do some travelling in the area but that plan fell through. I certainly will go back there, though not during the winter months, and this time I'm bringing my husband with me. He'll love it as much as I do.

We went Christmas tree hunting today

They literally just stand there, don't even try to run away.

We run down an unexpected one, a nice looking mature tree standing about 8 foot tall.

The kids surrounded it, the terror it must felt

And I tear it from the ground, the screams of agony could be heard throughout the valley.

Dragging the carcass back down the hill to be mounted on our car, a victory for the great white tree hunter.

^You murderous bastard.

I remember the annual Christmas tree hunt back when I was a kid--the drive out to the country, stopping at the apple farm, dinner in the logging town restaurant; it was awesome.

Glad you had a good time!
