What I do, I do for the human race.
Clearly not for the waistline of my best shorts.
Just hope you don't fall for somebody named Edith later on...
(puts on sunglasses)
...because you can't have your cake and Edith too.
Yeah, we all had a great time. The place actually has snow slides set up and a few jungle gym also. So the kids got to do that while I got the tree bailed and put onto the car. They didn't want to leave, well Kira did but that was because she kept getting snow in her mittens.
With moving from Long Island to up here in Syracuse we knew what we were getting into. Yeah it's rough sometimes but we're really happy here. Way better place to raise a family, I would never want to live in a place like Long Island again.
Before moving up here we spent a Christmas in an apartment, so. We had one of those slim artificial tree. It hurt so bad to not have a real one, but better to have the skinny one then none at all. The tree is beautiful, we haven't finished decorating it yet. I'll post a pic when we're done.
We've had close to a foot of snow already and we didn't get any from the storm that hammered Buffalo NY with over five feet of snow. So looking to be a good year of snow for us.
I grew up in Upstate NY (Albany). Went to college in Upstate NY (Utica/Geneseo) - which meant many trips through the Syracuse area. And now live on Long Island (well, Queens). The weather in Upstate is much harsher. But there are good people there, and there's plenty of space. It's certainly a good place to raise a family. Especially if you enjoy (and can manage) the snow.
You should've seen the slices. The tiers were vanilla, chocolate, vanilla. Chocolate etc etc and there were 7 or 8 tiers.
It is my son Ian's 6th birthday today, he was born at 1:35pm 6 weeks premature. He spent the first week in ICU and we were so scared. He is pure joy in my life and I love him without ends. His warmth, gentle soul and love knows no bounds. He is truly the light that shows the way.
Aww! What a cutie pie!
Congratulations on the blessing in your life, Tom. I've never had my own kids but I know how others talk about theirs, and they can be one of the best things that can ever happen to a person in this world.
Thanks guys, my kids are the light of my life. I love my wife and she loves me, I think it's palpable. However their is a radiance of love that comes from a child that is transcendent.
We went to Dave & Busters to celebrate his birthday. He is so happy, he got the one thing he really wanted. It's a Transformer Rescue Bots Optimus Prime T-Rex Dinobot.
Congrats, Tom! Oh! and wonderful, beautiful, joyous photos!
There are few sensations like being a little kid and getting the present you've been asking for and wanting. That's great!
Ian with said Optimus Prime T-Rex dinobot from Rescue Bots.
Love all the pics, Tom, and happy birthday to your fabulous young man.
It's always great seeing a kid smile and watch them experience genuine happiness over something like a toy.
Even with all the snow today, I was able to make it out to the Y for my watercolor class. I finished this one up today.
I like it. Good job, man!
^beautiful. Is it supposed to be a forest some time after a fire when the grass and understory are lush and green?
It's actually supposed to be a fall sunset with the trees in shadow.
Over the last 36 hours we got a little bit of snow.
