Something told me that posting this image with Archer in a military uniform would spark this conversation (maybe deep down i wanted to have this conversation?) ... anyway ... to settle it i've made an edit:

Appalled? Because he's wearing a starfleet uniform, when STAdventures explained the choice of dress? Why?

Because a President of a democratic country has no business wearing a uniform, commander in chief or not.

I know, but he explained that he didn't know what else to put him in and said that he knew that isn't what he'd wear. Give him a break.
