I've been saying this since episode 5 when we knew Starfleet was infiltrated and that the fleet would be at frontier day. This season is another threat to the federation, but hasn't been getting attacked for doing that again like Discovery and Picard seasons 1-2 always was.
I wonder if the revelation is going to be that Jack is not really Picard's biological son, that he is some gollum created from Bev and Jean-Luc's DNA? Maybe the changelings want to use him as a weapon against the Federation? Maybe Jack's mind reading or mind control powers that he did with Sydney can be amplified to work on billions of people and the Changelings want to use him to mind control every person in the Federation? That would be insane and over the top ridiculous.
I am little concerned that Jack's psychic abilities are going to come from some genetic mutation he got from Picard. That would be very X-Men. I hope they don't go that route. I know we've had ESP in Trek before but I don't know if we need to introduce Trek version of "X-men".

100% agree. There’s a lot about this season that has the exact same tenets that have been attacked in Kurtzman Trek. But we ignore it because? LCARS?
Familiar faces, familiar music, and familiar production design is a big part of it I think. I mean I personally like this story more than season 2 and I think it flows better and moves faster than season 1, but for me it's a writing issue. It has the same problems I've had with the previous seasons - and Discovery. Threat to the federation and mystery box storytelling being two of them. It's also starting to feel like, again, there isn't quite enough plot for the entire season.
Also, I've generally enjoyed all of Kurtzman Trek so I'm fine with it but maybe that's why I don't think there is a HUGE storytelling difference here.
Because familiarity. That's it. If you have people you like you're more willing to go along with it, even though it's no different.

Absolutely fair on the familiarity aspect. But maybe being challenged a little is a good thing. Just my $0.02.
Oh definitely. I’ve enjoyed this season quite more than most. But this idea of it being vastly different than what’s come before is a lie. Marginally maybe. We’ll see what the last three episodes bring. I think there’s some nice character stuff that would be lost if you brought it down to a six episode season. But I think eight would have done wonders. You could easily have put episodes 1 and 2 together and not lost much. And 6 and 7, while seemingly lots happened, did it? I feel like we’ve been spinning our wheels a bit since the end of episode 5.

I think the difference between the threats in Disco, S4 in particular, is that the majornthreat starts up early, them becomes the entire focus of the season.
The first and third season of Picard, the existential threat is only revealing itself slowly from other things. As such, mosy of yhe focus on.the series has wound outwards from personal perils. Same thing for Pic S1. The threat, in the way it was presented in S2 of Picard, is also introduced immediately, and that was also the season that was criticised most. However, there was much more about Pic S2 to criticise, that that point took a back seat.
I'm not saying it's fair that Disco is more heavily attacked on that point thay Picard is, just making an observation about the execution of said threats, and wondering if that factors into the overall satisfaction of each season.
Discovery Season 1 probably had the biggest threat, multiverse destruction.
It did, but like Picard, it was never the focus of the entire season, just a few of the Mirror universe episodes.
That's a Federation wide threat, not a universal or even galaxy ending threat. It's not the same.

What’s the title?
So we finally find out what Jack's visions are all about and it has something to do with the Galactic Apocalypse because of course it does.
Vox means voice. Picard was Locutus which means one who speaks I think? Maybe the theory about Jack’s connection to the Borg has some basis?
But it’s not galactic. Also that seemed obvious from Vadic’s discussion in Episode 7
