Thanks. I've been really looking forward to new episodes every Thursday. I am definitely looking forward to this episode to see how they take back the ship. I have two theories about the title. Maybe Jack surrenders to Vadic in exchange for Vadic leaving the Titan. And then Picard and co have to save both Jack and the Federation in the finale. That sounds plausible. It would certainly raise the stakes for the last two eps. Or maybe the crew of the Titan take back the ship and Vadic surrenders. With Vadic out of the picture, the true mastermind behind Vadic is revealed and launches their attack on Frontier Day.

I'm not convinced they're going to be able to take the Titan back.

I think they might Code 1-1-A it with DataLores help

When Vadic threatens to execute one of the bridge crew if Jack does not come to the bridge it is almost a reverse reimagining of a similar scene from Star Trek III, where Kirk’s son fell to the blade of Kruge’s d'k tahg on that fateful day on Genesis.

Next weeks episode definitely looks like a TNG movie. :bolian:

Reminds me of Khan in "Space Seed."

Agree that they definitely take the ship back -- there's a scene in the trailer in a conference room with all the legacy crew around the table (incl Riker + Troi + Worf etc), where he says "I need you..." Jack doesn't appear in that scene (although Jack was a surprise when the trailer came out). So Vadic definitely leaves the Titan somehow, presumably with Jack as you said... and Picard "needs" all the legacy crew to help him rescue Jack (and the Federation of course). I doubt we're done with Vadic at this point, so she probably takes him. Wonder if Lore assists Vadic in leaving, and Data assists in Picard/Shaw in regaining control of the Titan.

It seemed like they made a plan to be found by Vadic, and it either went pear shaped due to Lore, or they haven't dropped the hammer yet. The previews certainly make it seem like things aren't going to plan, but then trailers are like that.

Yeah, I think this is how it will play out. I especially like your idea of "Data" helping Picard/Shaw while "Lore" helps Vadic. Just the idea of the same body with two personalities, each personality helping the other side, is intriguing to me. And it will set up some interesting character moments for Data/Lore. I assume they will merge Data and Lore into a hybrid personality but it will be interesting when Data/Lore will know that he both helped but also betrayed his friends. I hope the writers go this route.

If we get Picard and co retaking the Titan, Vadic taking Jack, Riker and Troi rescued, and Data/Lore being merged, that would be a lot in one episode. We could be in for a really big episode. Although, they might leave the merging of Data and Lore for the finale. The prospect of a finale with the entire TNG characters reunited at last and racing against time to both save Jack and save the Federation, that sounds like a pretty epic finale to me.

In particular what I appreciate is a Changling with personality beyond Odo.

The female Changling, while a good character, was just a variant of the "Base species founder" character from "Chase", mostly because she played both roles and the makeup was virtually the same.

If there's one thing we can hope for in the Starfleet Academy show, it would be that not every single season would put the fate of the galaxy/Federation in the balance.

Another galaxy wide threat? I thought Matalas was different?[/sarcasm]
