Picard film in development

No, please no. I will pay Paramount just for them to never again use the Borg in anything, ever.
TBF, following up on that line from Q about the unknown possibilities of existence from TNG's finale would probably involve the Borg too. And that scenario would probably be that crossover idea with all the captains.

The Borg have been used in TNG. They were used at least in the set up of DS9. They were used ad nauseum throughout Voyager. They were used in First Contact. They were used in literally all three seasons of Picard. They even showed up in Enterprise! The Borg have been absolutely done to death.

Not to mention that the finale of Picard showed them being destroyed once and for all, and tying up nicely Picard's "Borg arc."

It's time to move on from the Borg.

I 99% agree, with the caveat that if SFA were to have some sort of follow up to what actually happened to the Jurati Borg, I MIGHT be interested. MIGHT.

They'd probably just have a Borg cadet or something. Didn't Lower Decks show Borg kids at school with humans in some vague distant future time?

According to LD, there were Borg students in the 28th century.

And then there's the Jurati Borg, who are just sitting there idling.

Then there are the parasite from "Conspiracy" that were intended to be a precursor to the Borg, maybe there's an origin story in there explaining how the Borg went from what they were in "Q Who" in only interested in technology to having a Borg Queen and having an interest in assimilation in general.

And then there's Seven herself, who identifies as Borg. Her presence opens up more Borg stories. Much like Spock & T'Pol did for Vulcans, Worf & Alexander did for Klingons, and Kira & Ro did for Bajorans.

There's even the mystery as why the Q do not want to provoke the Borg, and what vulnerabilities the Q Continuum have related to that.

But Star Trek is not really done with the Borg, even if it is done with the Borg Collective. There are many open ended questions about the Borg left to explore.

100% agree, especially when the Borg of modern trek don't resemble anything like the old borg from TNG. If they wanted to do something different, they should have created a new species and not re-used the Borg constantly, making them into boring villains of the week.

I never saw that as having anything to do with the Q, but more akin to someone in a bulldozer knocking over a hornets nest. Bulldozer guy is fine, but any people or animals on the ground are in for a rough time.

Speaking only for myself, I have absolutely no interest in the exploration of any of those remaining questions. The Borg ceased being interesting to me long, long ago. They are reaching almost Klingon levels of "being done to death" at this point. I think Trek should put them on the shelf and let them be.
