Picard and 25%

Yes, this one has a legitimate source, but since the source got in trouble and the studio denied it, we can assume it wasn't supposed to be communicated.
Which means we don't have the important context which means what was actually communicated isn't know to us. So, we can speculate but it will not be accurate and will simply foment conspiracy theories, like Midnights Edge. In other news, is Kurtzman fired (again)?

"After negotiations for Star Trek 4 fell apart, Alex Kurtzman is attempting to use Star Trek: Strange New Worlds as an attempt to save his career by making his own backdoor version of Star Trek 4! Thus the "Untitled Discovery Movie" project which is really Star Trek 4. CBS has told Alex Kurtzman he better deliver or else!

Coming up next: Elvis Presley will talk about his take on the current state of music. He's all shook up."

The Enterprise-D looks the same when we see it. 100% the same. Ten Forward looks the same.
Mmm...95%? I understand they botched Shuttlebays 2 and 3 (not the sort of thing I'd have noticed myself); and the location of the Ten Forward windows was off.

And JesterFace would know this if he watched the series. I submit that if he has time to watch YouTube Videos, he has time to watch Picard. And if he watched, he'd be able to decide for himself if what the videos are saying is true.
Liked for this.

It's not about not having the time for it, more like not being that interested.
But you're interested enough to watch YouTube fake news / nerdrage videos about it, and to post threads here about topics that are at least 75% bullshit.

If YouTube is to be trusted...
That was your first mistake, especially if it comes from propaganda whores like Midnight's Edge Lord.

But, since you seem to put stock in YouTube videos, here's one that tears all of the ridiculous fanboy conspiracy theories to shreds using facts and logic. The 25% nonsense is addressed starting at 9 minutes and 30 seconds.

The thing is, even if Eaves was given the mandate that the Enterprise had to be 25% different for legal reasons, that doesn't mean the mandate was series-wide. It's a lot of assuming based on very limited information.

Probably was the case at some point, as Eaves had no axe to grind.
More likely I find this whole 25% covfefe to be proof of how piss-poor communication is, or at least was at the time Eaves posted that. Since it was the same time there were writers on Disco claiming that they were both forbidden from using material from Star Trek movies and allowed to use material from the movies, I can easily see there was contradictory back and forth talk among the writers and producers that somehow led Eaves to believe there was a 25% policy.

Also, his Facebook account being deleted after he posted that led some to believe there was truth to it, thinking this action was a result of CBS issuing a gag order or something.

I have no dog in the fight either way, I just hope they give the Enterprise straight pylons in the new series.

CBS released a PR statement a few days after the '25%' thing started circulating saying they owned the TOS Connie design and that the DSC changes were for 'creative reasons'.

Plus you know, we saw the TOS Connie in Season 2 long before Paramount and CBS were back under Viacom.

I always assumed it was a licencing thing, not a legal/rights thing. If the Enterprise was too close to the original they wouldn't be able to sell the design under a separate licence and make more money or something.

His account wasn't deleted, he just set it to private. I've seen him post since then, though very rarely, and never about his current Trek work.

There is a smaller bar behind the windows they showed, but the inside view didn't match the outside view XD

This! John is a designer he doesn't have to know all the legal details. They tell him what they want he designs, they ask for revisions, he revises. He misunderstood and got in a jam by saying what he said. He has personal (fan) Facebook pages and private pages. He deleted his personal fan type page for a while because he didn't want to deal with every fan and podcaster trying to get him to comment on it. He reactivated it a few months later when it blew over a bit.
