That seems to be based upon that tweet which is considered to be bullshit, since the tweeter was from Europe and unlikely to be in LA for the screening.

Wasn't there an european screening? I remember having read something about one in London.

Maybe he or she has some friends who were at the premiere in LA. Can we really be sure that this is a hoax?

Isn't it easier to think that a random person on twitter was lying?

Someone in one of the other threads saw the episode in LA, and said that everything other than the Irumodic Syndrome thing was untrue.

So he apparently has the syndrome? That was the only point that i was trying to point to.

See I don’t think that was intentional, as we know the ship had its own name other than D7. It’s the Sech Class.

I’m guessing the writer put that in as a reference without thinking it through.

Most likely. The writers are hardly ever in sync with the VFX personnel.

Right, I saw that. But I was hoping for clarification. In response to whether we see any 24th century ships he wrote “No, not really”, which could mean anything from us seeing no ships at all, to us seeing a fleet of Magee class ships and red-angel suits. :)

There have been remarks by the production crew in the media indicating that Picard spends a good deal of time on Earth rather than disembarking immediately for a space adventure. It could be that all of the initial "recruitment" portion of the series takes place on Earth, which would explain no ships.

There are no Starfleet ships seen in the first three. It's possible that there is something glimpsed in an establishing shot or something that I'm not remembering, but nothing is given any real screentime or focus at all.

Picard doesn't leave Earth until the very end of the 3rd episode, where he departs in La Sirena with Rios, Raffi and Jurati

With previous Trek movies and show premieres (basically Kelvin and Discovery) I allowed myself to be surprised. But this is a new show that has familiar elements in it. I’d like to know what is brand-spanking new and what is retained from the past.

Excited for the show and not going to miss an episode but at the moment I care more about the setting and visual presentation than the story.

:techman:I really like this. Finally we get to spend some time on 24th century Earth!

You said something about Geordi and Worf being mentioned. So did Geordi survive the attack? And what happened with Worf?

Too much time. :) IMHO, the ground covered in first three episodes could have been done in 2.

Here's the deal with the references to other TNG cast members --

In the scene glimpsed in the trailers where Picard's wine-making Romulan buddy says, "You need a crew" he finishes by suggesting "Riker, Worf, LaForge", but Picard demurs about contacting those old friends.

That's it. We don't know what they're specifically doing, but clearly they're all alive.
