Out of curiosity, what parts are you referring to?And Picard had quite a lot going for it, even if it didn't stick the landing.

It really wasn't depressing at all. Quite positive, in fact.I’ll get to it one day but Picard left such a bad taste in my mouth. I can’t help but feel this will be a depressing read.
There's a Reman engineer on the Romulan ship, but IIRC nothing about Remus being evacuated. Is there something about the Remans in the novel and did starfleet evacuate them and the other romulan subject people too?
Nope. I presume they didn't want to use TV characters (other than those established to be on Titan of course), for fear of being contradicted. And Tuvok being there, without the context of the rest of the Litverse just feels like a lot of baggage to me.And are Tuvok and his wife also part of the Titan crew in the new continuity?
Due to corona all of my written exams have been delayed, so I suddenly had a lot more time during winter break this year. I like to think I used it well! You people are really fast reading books.

It's still in 2387 that hasn't changed.Nova is supposed to be 2387 but god knows where it happens in this timeline.
Picard explained it fine, it meshed with ST09 fine. It didn't with the background comics, but those weren't canon in the first place so they didn't need toThe stories don’t mesh which causes the confusion. Picard did a poor job explaining it
Did you even watch the show?To you perhaps but not me. I need more clarification.
I just don’t see how Spock’s plan would have worked in the new take in the nova. It doesn’t make sense
The end of the novel also has Spock ask Riker to put him into contact with La Forge, hopefully setting up a future novel about those two trying to deal with the nova.I did but I trying to forget it now.

But that is exactly what I want a explanation on.
I blame that show for many things besides that.If you mean the part in my second paragraph, Picard did not create that problem. The movie created that problem; Picard simply left it unaddressed, because Spock's fate was outside the purview of the story it was telling. So it makes no sense whatsoever to blame Picard for it.

The books aren’t canon so it doesn’t matter who they add. It is neat that Vale is included though.Aside from Riker,Troi, and Thaddeus, should any other officers on the Titan be considered canonical?
The ship was Romulan in design, with the raptor-like aspect common to all but a few of the Star Empire’s vessels; but it had been altered with stealth technology, advanced weapons, and other systems beyond the grasp of any standard Romulan ship. Clawlike constructions and serrated talons emerged from the hull, giving the craft the aspect of a barbed weapon. Rumors suggested that these vessels used technologies recovered from other species, whispering the name of the dreaded Borg, and worse. No one on the bridge spoke. Every one of the command crew knew what these ships were. Tal Shiar.
