For those who have been interested in giving my Scribe Award-winning novel Firewall a try, but who were put off by the hardcover price point, this is a gentle reminder that Firewall comes out in a more affordable trade paperback edition this Tuesday, February 11, 2025.

You’re welcome. :-)
Though I pre-ordered and got, read and reviewed the hardback, I am tempted to buy the paperback too. Just to support it.

Awesome. However, if I click the link, at least *I* get an error: Fehlercode: PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR

The links work fine for me.

By the way - in the bookstore in my hometown, which I regularly visit, I can say, that they are spectacularly bad at having Star Trek books. Lots of Star Wars books, Harry Potter, no problem - but just one Star Trek book, and - good Sir? I can proudly say: It's the one you wrote. I don't buy it, because I already did so around christmas 2023, but it's there. Star Trek Picard - Fenris Ranger - by David Mack. Don't ask me, why the German title is "Fenris Ranger", I don't know, honestly.

Glad to hear your local store had my book in stock. As for the title change, that might have been a clerical issue, such as someone logging in the early listing with a brief marketing description ("Seven of Nine Fenris Ranger book") or an editorial decision that, for a German readership, “Fenris Ranger” would be a more appealing or understandable title than a direct translation of “Firewall.”

Thanks. I'm noticing paperback editions are being pushed back further and further in some cases (particularly in the UK?)

With The Autobiography of Benjamin Sisko... being a particularly major, offender...

A year between hardcover and trade paperback is actually fairly standard. Firewall was released in hardcover on February 27, 2024. So this is right about on-target.

I don't know the reason - I just know, that we have a German word for "Firewall" and it is... "Firewall". ^^ One of those words, we assimilated into our language. ^^ But on the other hand: the title "Fenris Ranger" is cool. ^^

I had no objection to the title “Fenris Ranger” when I saw the early catalog listing on the Cross Cult Romane site. If they had asked me for an alternative title, however, I might have asked if the idiom “Lone Wolf” translates well into German.

True dat.

But it feels like it's been creeping longer and longer, in some cases.
Oh well.
