I mean as-is. If we're including excuses made later to account for the differences then I say we should give them 30+ years to explain it, just like last time.

It'll take one year, two at the most, for an official explanation to be given nowadays. Maybe sooner if they ignore the issue and allow TrekLit to come up with a semi-official explanation.
My assumption is and always has been that they are genetically mutated in an attempt to fight against the Augment virus.
If this thread proves anything at all, it's that the explanations are completely unnecessary. Add some hair and eyebrows to the Discovery Klingons and they'd look pretty much identical to the ENT version. Better, even, considering the variations in eye color and skin tone.

My main problem with the klingons is the weird faces lacking of facial hair tho... Specifically the iconic beards and the long eyebrows.
Maybe someone more skilled than I can add eyebrows to this picture? I'd bet it look even better!
