We'll know in two days-- the first issue hasn't come out yet! Preview is at https://www.cbr.com/exclusive-star-trek-discovery-1/I am curious about this comic. Does it overly explain things that didn't need that in the first place, like IDW did with Nero's ship and NuKhan's backstory?
Yeah, it isn't out yet, i got the hairy klingon from the preview.I am curious about this comic. Does it overly explain things that didn't need that in the first place, like IDW did with Nero's ship and NuKhan's backstory?
Kor
DSC Klingons actually have ridges going all the way to the back of their necks. So hair in the comic is on top of the ridges.Well the T'Kuvma prequel comic shows a Klingon with hair, but its only on the back of their head, where the ridges stop.
Which makes sense, that is how it was in TNG, they never had hair over the ridges.
Here's the hairy klingon from the preview pages:

Nice! Now, if we would see some hairy klingons on Discovery...?
BTW who made this comic? Are the writers of Dicovery involved? Could this be, like, the very first sign they took the fan backlash about klingons to heart and... this be our first hint that they will change them? Make klingons klingons again!
(I still find it kind of ironic, that the very first time the klingons appear to have an actual arc about "remaining klingon", the producers decided to reboot the race entirely and purge them of EVERY iconic klingon characteristic. I still don't get the intent behind this)

of EVERY iconic klingon characteristic
Kirsten Beyer is one of the writers on the comic.
She can also claim credit for writing the only STD episode that can be called "good".
Nope.the producers decided to reboot the race entirely and purge them of EVERY iconic klingon characteristic.
So the hairy Klingon looks to be a teenager. Must be jak'tahla. We'll know in two days-- the first issue hasn't come out yet! Preview is at https://www.cbr.com/exclusive-star-trek-discovery-1/
There were more then that.
And Ii you go by the ratings poll in the thread on this board, the mid-season finale was the best one.
I wouldn't say every. They still act like Klingons.
Tell me with a straight face that you would know Tiny Lister's character in ENT and Koloth in Tribbles were the same species if it weren't specified. That being said, I still found the portrayal of klingons both in ENT and TOS (which bookend DIS) much more believable and congruent.
