I know, right? It's almost like they planned it that way.

What a difference cranial hair and eyebrows make.

You know? All of these look REALLY friggin' good!

IMO the klingon bushy eyebrows, the iconig mongolian beards, and the hair, whether barbarian-style or a Samurai-inspired haircut, are at least as important as the ridges - mybe even more, since they were the first thing they ever had.

The new klingon look would be a lot more acceptable if it would have included some hair. Still not perfect - there is so much latex in the face I can't really see the actors act - but it certainly would fit very nicely with how klingons traditionally have looked!

Okay, uhm, that one had me laughing on the floor :guffaw:

Couple more form the old "New Klingons" thread:

TSN gave us this Klingon, who pities the fool:

And this one by Klingon teacher Lieven L. Litaer:

Maybe someone can give L'Rell some Leia buns.

Tkuvma looks like one of the puppets from Labyrinth or Dark Crystal. I can't put my finger on it.

Some people can look very alien simply by shaving off hair and eyebrows.

I think it's weird that their brow ridges are so prominent that their sight is now obstructed. That doesn't seem like an advantage for a warrior/hunter type of species.

But they might deflect direct blows to the eyes. It's not a bad design, just so far misunderstood by fans unwilling to accept change. Open your mind, youngling. :techman:

Can someone tweet the best of these at the show account or the writers (which is an adorable wall, really, joining the dots with actors, crew & writers, e.g. here) - I think they'll enjoy these :) Or the designers Neville Page & Glenn Hetrick - I think they will enjoy these (and have shared images of hairy klingons in the past).

It's really too bad they decided to get rid of the hair. The current makeup with the hair looks very, very Klingon! They actually look like 'modernized' Klingons rather than 're-imagined' as far as my understanding of the difference in meaning would be.

Indeed. If they liked the hairless look, they could have still used it for their main character Klingons, but let some of the background extras have hair. It is just weird that the entire species seems to be completely hairless now.

It was just the style at the time. Many Klingons removed their hair to signal their disgust of the augment crisis. What better way to REMAIN KLINGON™ than to remove your hair so as to show off your ridges? :)

I'm still hoping that the hairless look is just a fad within the warring houses and they start growing their hair again later on.

'We may still shed blood on who should lead, but at least we can all agree that this shaved look is pretty fly.'
